They ventured deeper. The air grew colder and thicker. The massive stone structure was crumbling in places, with jagged cracks running up the walls and debris scattered across the floor. Broken bookshelves lined the hallways, with old, decaying tomes spilling out. Prayer rooms lay in disarray, their once-sacred spaces now filled with cursed energy. They passed through grand dining halls, with long tables covered in dust, and rest chambers that still held the remnants of the undead monks and priests who had once lived here. Faded crests and torn banners hung from the walls, hinting at the former grandeur of the place.

Jane was the first to break the silence. Her voice echoed slightly in the vast, crumbling chamber. "I don't get it," she said, her tone confused. "Why does this place have both priests and monks? They're supposed to follow different faiths, right? Why are they all here, in one monastery?"
