The whole group gulped when they saw that… it was evident that Sigma didn't have enough mana to kill so many enemies, so they had to hurry up and leave their range. The question was: would they stop after mobilizing those numbers? That was hard to say.
In any case, it was a bit risky, but Sigma decided to focus on using Double Shot. While his goal was always a headshot, with those massive numbers of enemies, it would be impossible to miss. So, when the beasts entered his range, he began to spam that skill.

…
The monsters began to fall in groups of two left and right, and ten of them died even before the first of them had the chance to attack. Still, Sigma frowned when the enemies suddenly moved to the side even before they began their attacks… they immediately began to aim for Ed and Eclair.
"What the hell… why?" Sigma furrowed his eyebrows while wondering about that.
Sigma began to attack in that direction to make sure that Ed wouldn't be overwhelmed, but another group began to aim at his horse as well. It was getting hard to deal with them since they increased their range of attack… Sabrina deployed her wind wall, and it was larger than before.
Sigma ignored that for a while since it didn't cause any problems, but soon they reached the area where the enemies had stopped chasing him before, and they didn't stop this time…
"Sabrina! How much mana do you have left?" Ed asked.
"Around half!" Sabrina shouted while focusing her senses on blocking the enemies' wind arrows that they were landing like raindrops.
Sigma had killed around forty enemies already, and one didn't have to be a mathematical genius to know that the numbers didn't add up. Still, they kept going like that for a while until the wind arrows began to hit Ed and the horses and cause a bit of damage. Eclair began to heal all of them, but it was time for plan B.
"Ed…" Sigma said and then grabbed his spear.
"Oh boy…" Ed said and then sighed.

That morning, Sigma also came up with plan B, and for that, he would need a melee weapon. The others couldn't help but wonder how nonchalantly he could come up with those ideas and bad scenarios. Still, things turned out as he had told them… they were almost out of mana and energy, and more than two hundred monsters were left chasing them. He also came with a plan C, but he truly didn't want to use it… that would be dangerous in more ways than one.
In any case, Ed didn't hesitate and then jumped from his horse before spinning on the ground and swinging his sword with the side of the blade… When he was about to complete the third rotation, Sigma jumped from his horse and then landed on the side of the weapon. With all his might while clenching his teeth, Ed sent Sigma flying toward the enemies.
"Sometimes you need a personal touch to solve some problems…" Sigma thought while he flew toward the monsters.
The creatures were caught off guard, and they didn't have the chance to attack him. Sigma passed over three monsters and swung his spear before cutting their necks. He landed on the back of another beast and then stabbed its neck before jumping to another monster.
His sudden increase in speed sure helped Sigma… few monsters saw him moving and landing on their backs before he attacked them. All of a sudden, Sigma was killing the monsters even faster than he did with the bow, and they also stopped attacking since they were searching for him. They had lost forty monsters when he reached the back of their formation and was forced to stop for a bit and turn around.
The monsters began to use their wind arrows, but only their allies since Sigma had jumped toward another target. Sigma leveled up again and Increased his speed again… his stamina was being drained pretty fast, so it couldn't be helped.
After losing a few dozen more of their allies, the beasts realized that they couldn't stay clustered, and they began to fly away from each other. Some moved to the sides while others moved upward and began to attack Sigma. He just made the monster that he was riding get in a diagonal flight downward and toward his allies, and they got the cue and began to move away.
The Verdiris chased Sigma, but then he moved to the side a bit toward one of those massive rocks. He thought that they would split up, but for some reason, they all chased him… they recognized him as too much of a threat, it seems.
Sigma made the monster fly around the rock and then disappeared for a moment. The enemies chased him and didn't realize that he would soon appear behind them. When that did, Sigma just cut the neck of that monster and then jumped to the massive line of monsters trying to chase him. One step, one jump, and then one swing of his spear was enough to kill the monsters. It was crazy, but eventually, he completed a full lap around the rock before the stupid birds tried to run away from him. At that point in time, they realized that Sigma was just too much for him.
Sigma still tried to chase him, but it was kind of hard to force a monster to fly upward… When he landed on the ground, he felt satisfied knowing that only sixty of the monsters managed to run away.
