Sigma didn't have that many arrows to spare, and losing them now would truly make a mess of things now that he was getting better at using a bow… with that in mind, Sigma had to make good use of each one of them.
The flying monsters weren't like the Verdiris that Ed mentioned, and they looked like snakes that had wings but also had two legs… it was quite a weird combination, but it wasn't just that. The creatures were red, and once they were one hundred meters away, they began to use Fireball.
The attacks flew toward the warriors on the walls, but most of them were blocked while others were parried. Sigma jumped to the side and dodged one while already aiming his first arrow toward one of the monsters. They stopped approaching while they were fifty meters away. Still, while Sigma's aim was already at the top of the creature, he waited for a while until Power Shot got a lot of extra power. The arrow flew like the wind and pierced the head of one of the monster with ease.

"Not bad, I guess…" Sigma thought while he watched more enemies getting hit by other magic attacks.

People were spamming their spells, and Sigma wondered how did they get so much mana. Maybe that was another thing that was common sense thing, and he didn't know. In any case, he watched the attacks while he prepared the next arrow. There were many targets for the monsters, and since he wasn't close to the others, most of the monsters ignored Sigma.
Two of them targeted him at the same time, but Sigma just fired another Power Shot and then jumped to the side. The arrow pierced the head of one of them with ease once again, and the beast began to fall without making any noise.

After killing two more beasts, Sigma leveled up, and at the same time, he felt the wall trembling when he looked on the other side. He saw those massive beasts attacking the wall with their massive weapons.
"I can't attack them from my position… I should focus on the birds," Sigma muttered to himself.
Sigma also saved his status points since he didn't know how things would work out once he was out of arrows. Still, much to his surprise, he saw some warriors climbing down the walls using ropes on their waists and then firing magic at the giant beasts on the ground… unfortunately, three of them became easy targets for the monsters. They ended up being killed by the flying snakes almost instantly.
Sigma clicked his tongue… he didn't know these people, but he knew that their deaths would make things difficult for him. He needed to work fast and think of a way to improve their situation… otherwise, he would have to retreat, and the idea just annoyed him so much.
All of a sudden, Sigma had an idea… if he could make himself level up, couldn't he make other things level up as well? He wondered why he didn't think of that before… It was probably because he had too many things to worry about.
Sigma didn't hesitate in using his mana on his bow, and thanks to that, he eventually got some results.

"It is more or less like the way I level up…" Sigma thought while looking around. "In any case, it seems that I forced this window to open by using Exp/mana conversion."
Sigma didn't know well yet how he could change the outcome of the fight with that alone, but he used more mana since he was unable to open the skill shop of the item. He could feel the stares of people around him since he stopped fighting, but he ignored them.
When he made the bow level up again, he was finally able to use the skill shop of the weapon, and now he had access to the effect: earth arrow.
Earth Arrow: at the cost of three points of mana, you can summon an arrow enhanced with earth magic.
That wasn't exactly what Sigma waited for, but he decided to use the points to get the effect and to increase the attack of the weapons. Once he did that, he aimed and then chose the next target after using Power Shot for a while. Much to his surprise, the arrow flew even faster and killed two of the flying monsters at once and even hit a third before breaking.

"Hehe, this is more like it…" Sigma smirked.
People around Sigma frowned again since they assumed that he was holding back while everyone was trying their hardest… they sure were expecting a lot of him even though he had no real attachments to that city. In any case, everyone had better things to do, including Sigma… they realized that when huge chunks of the wall began to fall on the other side, and the cracks were increasing.
While it was a bit more costly, it was also more efficient for Sigma to keep using Power Shot, and so he kept using it until the monsters realized that he was a threat, and most of their attacks began to focus on his area. He couldn't use Power Shot while he had to dodge the attacks, but even while running to the side, he was able to kill the creatures in one shot.
At that moment, Sigma noticed that the mages on the walls began to attack less often, and then he saw them sitting on the walls with their legs crossed. They knew the best way to kill time and rest.
