Chapter 29 - Kindness

The captives were quickly freed and brought out of the cave where the backed forces were lying in wait just in case. The captives were still in immense shock and fear as they didn't know the identity of the new people. 

Seeing them curled up in fear, Li Yan's gaze softened as her heart pained. There was only one thought in her mind, 'These people are the people of Tianze! They should not suffer this way!'

Li Yan was someone who took pride in her heritage and the history of her motherland as well as the dignity that was rooted deep in her heart. Seeing its condition falling so bad that innocent people were being put through such a terrible fate, Li Yan was truly saddened—and Shijie did not miss this detail. 

This was also the first time in his life that Shijie had seen people in such terrible conditions. His pure, childish heart didn't know what had happened with these men and women but even he could see that they were wronged and terrorized by the bandits.
