"It wasn't that bad. You're just overre-"
"No. It was."
Passing her side of the shield to Khal to hold, Tori walked over and stared her mother in the eyes.
"I'm not going back to Easthill. That place is a hellhole of rules."
The other official took a few steps forward until he was even with Tori's mother.
"Well then, you're in luck."
There was clear disdain in the man's eyes as he glared down at Tori.
"Our country's spellcrafting team in Honor was wiped out over the break, and we need someone to replace them."
Tori's brain seemed to lag for a moment when she heard the man's words.
"And you came to find me?! Jeez, Easthill must be struggling a lot more than I thought. Peh, if I'm your only option? Do you remember what happened last time you tried sending me to a spellcrafting college?"
The official looked just as annoyed with Tori as he spoke up once again.
