Seeing Willow's current state, Edol somehow felt both relieved and heartbroken at the same time. The usually chatty and happy girl was now shaking with pain, down a leg and needing to be carried by a friend just to move around.
At the same time, she was at least alive. Ghost's refusal to answer Edol's questions about her had made anxiety build up in him as they rode closer.
Edol hopped down from his horse, rushing over to the two girls. As he approached, though, his footsteps slowed.
"Tori… Pierre is dead. Levi as well."
"...Yea."
All three of them stayed silent for a few moments, a faint aura of grief hanging over them.
The rest of the riders arrived at the campsite, but none of them continued to approach.
Both Edol and Tori spoke the same words at the same time.
"I'm sorry."
"I should've been more careful planning this. I should've known there could've been more cultists in the area. This is my fault for messing up."
