The sun was already approaching the horizon when Edol's group finally arrived outside the ranch. Finn and Levi still looked downcast, but the duo had stopped crying back when they were still at the tavern.
As they walked, they started to chat a bit. Edol previously didn't know much about them- the person on their team he'd talked to most was Leon, the twin who'd been enthusiastic about eagles when the two teams first met.
Now Leon was dead.
'This… It feels weird. I think this is the first time someone I knew has died at such a young age.'
Edol felt uncomfortable as he remembered the talkative twin. They hadn't been close enough to call each other anything but acquaintances, but it was still unsettling.
'I can't imagine what Finn and Levi are feeling right now… what would it be like if Tori and Pierre suddenly died?'
Edol quickly shut down this line of thought.
