If there were already cultists waiting to ambush them inside the tomb, what might they encounter outside? Even if it would be dangerous, Edol still planned to head outside right away.
He and the trapped team didn't have a ton of food left, and none of the thirty or so civilians had brought stockpiles of supplies with them. If they didn't leave soon, people would start to become dehydrated. Life legacies could grow food, but there was no way to create water in the tomb.
A few of the civilians signaled that they still wanted to leave at the same time as Edol.
If the outside was uncertain, it was better to be with someone who could slaughter four cultists in a minute than to go out alone.
