Lace stepped in front of Salis, blocking the creepy men from approaching.
"You guys. Are you cult members or something?"
It wasn't her first time meeting these people. A week before, on the night when many of Easthill's officials were murdered, she'd encountered this group wandering the street at night.
"Ooo! Bingo! Hihihih, I think you'll wake up to some more nice news in the morning!"
One of the other men whispered something to the cackling cultist, prompting him to lean over in an exaggerated manner.
"Hihi, my friend here says I might be wrong! We're going to play together first, you three and us! My friend is a bit different though, so you might not be able to see the morning light tomorrow. Kilkil, it'll be fun though!"
Lace's expression darkened as she heard the cultist's words.
"Salis. Run."
Lace drew her sword and turned to face their foes. The cultists also prepared themselves, their leader drawing a long dagger.
