Instead of instantly entering the city, Willow instead circled around on the eastern side of it. She planned to head north immediately after meeting up with Edol, so it wouldn't make sense for her to leave her horse here on the southern side of the city.
While horses weren't allowed in the vast majority of the city, there were some specified streets where they could be ridden. It also wouldn't have been impossible for Willow to bring Pepper onto one of the larger canal ferries, but she still decided to go around the city.
The area was populated by sprawling farms and ranches. There was a faint wind blowing, kicking up the crisp scent of fall.
"Hello! Want to see something cool?"
They also chanced upon many farmers, and Willow would often call out to them. A lot of the time she wouldn't receive a response, but sometimes folks would come over to chat.
"Look, I can call down a massive eagle! Nibbles!"
