Feeling the relative absence of slugs on my legs, I apprehensively nodded as I turned the flame off my hand. I was breathing heavily through Lise's hand, and while I couldn't see her face anymore, my sister was probably sporting the most disappointed glare she had ever given me for my actions.
"N-now... follow me, okay?"
Taking her hand off my mouth, I held onto her as she cautiously moved forward. The darkness surrounding us was still, for all intents and purposes, paranoia-inducing, but I at least felt my heart calm down as I felt the damp grass from before grow shorter under our feet. I guess we were moving closer to our destination, but what was once a small flame from a distance now looked like it was getting bigger; probably closer to our location now than before.
"Lise..." I whispered, my hand pointing at the light source.
"Yeah... We'll have to circle around..." I felt my sister nod.
