Before I could even prepare, the ground quaked underneath our feet as the Primzahl struck his hammer straight in front of him. Like a tsunami, a wave of dirt and rock seemed to rise from the impact point, moving and coalescing to a point that it surrounded Lise within its confines.
"I guess that marks the end of your reign of terror, kid."
I blinked as I froze immediately on the spot, my heart beating at a mile a minute as I felt my hands grip my staff with such rage-induced fury. Here I was, waiting for the so-called perfect opportunity to strike when the fight had basically been over right from the start. Lise probably wouldn't have stood a chance if this Primzahl just did this from the start, and yet I still had this preconceived notion that I could help?!
