But with a hard attempt at blinking off my idolizing stare, I remembered that I was still on duty and that I was staring at an unruly patient that ignored every other piece of advice and care that I gave.

"You were not fine," I clinically replied, standing my ground against my own urges to make way for her. "You were being stupid, and you know how high I regard your intelligence, Flare."

 

To my veiled surprise, Flare averted her gaze from my own. "Like I said, I truly apologize. I knew I wasn't thinking straight, and I should've informed you of the process I had to undergo to regain my strength."

 

"Process?"

 

"Yes."

 

Turning her gaze towards the ceiling, the star-like source of light for the whole forge seemed to shine brighter the longer I looked at it. But somehow, I wasn't blinded. Instead, it filled with a sense of warmth... and purpose...
