Chapter 43 - Medallion Of Kestrel

Arthur reached out and grasped the medallion as if scared that it would disappear.

It was understandable too, after all this was the item on which all of his plans relied on. If this thing was gone, all of his plans would crumble into dust.

>Quest Updated!<

>Player Arzhur has found the hidden secret of the Kestrel ruins!<

>Quest Issued<

Just as Arthur had thought, the quest updated again, and a new one was added this time.

"It's finally here… the Epic Ranked quest!" Arthur felt incredibly excited.

This was the next major step in the quest line, and Arthur was halfway to his goal now. He looked at the Medallion, grasping it firmly.

"They never put a description for it, but it looks rather simple," Arthur muttered to himself.

The Medallion of Kestrel was circular and had an inverted triangle carved on it. In the center of the triangle though, a complex rune was present. The rune had a blue outline and looked to have been stamped on it.

The back of the medallion was plain and looked like a mirror.

>Inspect Failed!<

"Tch~ just as I thought." Arthur had wondered if inspect would work, but it didn't.

The Inspect Skill wasn't actually that good and was the lowest level among the appraisal type skills. One could obtain other skills that were better than this and could provide a lot more information.

There were even a few players that had top level appraisal skills that could even reveal secret information about items. It was said that having such a skill could allow one to skip several steps in quests.

After all, the skill could just reveal the information that the players would usually spend a lot of time searching for.

'The Guild Master of Lore Gluttons had one such skill. That was why they were able to become one of the top guilds in the entire game.' Arthur recalled.

If a player could obtain an appraisal skill of even a mid level, they could make a lot of money. It wasn't unusual for guilds or even NPCs to hire such players to find out more about different items and even people.

Becoming an Appraiser was one of the lucrative businesses that Arthur certainly intended to dabble in. Though for now, he needed to get on with his quest.

"Let's get back." Arthur said, before putting the medallion safely in the bag.

He walked back the same way he had come and soon left the ruins. Once out, he traced his steps and went to the place where the Razer Tusk Boar had killed the Ten Pronged Deer.

"I can't leave perfectly good loot." Arthur smiled and quickly got to butchering the dead beast.

>Player Arzhur has obtained a Low quality Horn of a Ten Pronged Deer!<

>Player Arzhur has obtained a Low Quality Pelt of a Ten Pronged Deer!<

>Player Arzhur has obtained Low quality Tainted Meat of the Ten pronged Deer x10!<

"That should be good enough." Arthur wrapped all the loot in the pelt of the deer as he had no space left in his bag.

He tied the pelt similar to how he had done before and hung it across his back.

"Ugh! This is fucking heavy." Arthur could tell he was really close to being over-encumbered.

>Player Arzhur is carrying a heavy load!<

>Player Arzhur's speed will be reduced by 40%!<

"Sigh! At least I just have to haul it back." Arthur gritted his teeth and started his journey back to the village.

His journey back was without any problems and he didn't come across any enemies either. It was to be expected, as the Razer Tusk Boar had rampaged through here. Not to mention, the scent of blood coming from Arthur was enough to terrify most of the mobs.

"At least the spoiled clothes work as a repellent for now. Though I'll have to buy more." Arthur said with a little frustration.

Getting one's clothes dirty was one of the common issues of Morpheus Online and players would get really pissed about it at the start. With how realistic it was, no one wanted to wear icky, blood stained clothes that reeked of rot.

Arthur was lucky that it would take a while for the clothes to start stinking like that, so he still had time to get back.

"Halt!" But his return was met with a hostile shout.

The guards at the entrance pointed their spears at him while watching him with wary eyes.

"Identify yourself and state your reason for coming here!" The guards demanded.

"It's me! Arzhur!" He quickly called out.

"Huh?" The guards found the voice familiar and took a closer look. "It really is the new adventurer Arzhur!" they could barely make him out from the blood and guts that were covering him.

Having butchered several beasts with a low leveled butcher skill, this was bound to happen.

"I'm done with my mission. Can you let me in?" Arthur replied.

"Sure… But how'd you end up in that state?" The Guards were surprised.

To them, it felt like Arzhur was greatly injured, but it seemed like the blood was from other beasts.

"Ah, I just ended up coming across a few beasts." Arthur said, before pointing to the pelts on his back.

Whistle~

"Must've been some big beast." The guard couldn't help but say.

"Yeah. Took me a lot of effort." Arthur said before looking at the sun that had started to go down. "I should probably head on in. The Resident Mage will be pissed if I'm late." He added.

Hearing that, the expression of the guards turned anxious and they nodded.

"Go, go! We don't want that old man pissed at us." They let Arthur in finally.

Arthur directly went to the Resident Mage's house, wanting to finish his quest. A few minutes later, he stood at the entrance of the mage's house, finding the old man talking to someone.
