Arthur pummeled the Whirling Centipede on the sides, where it was more vulnerable. Its carapace on the outside was tough, and hitting there would result in little damage.
The ideal place to hit it was its inner side which was the belly and force it to leave its ring form.

"SKREEE!" The Whirling centipede was finally hit from the edge of its belly, drawing its blood and forcing it to unwind.
Its front and back legs let go, as it laid flat on the ground. The two antennas on its head stood straight up, while it tried to raise its head to strike at Arthur.

But the attacks were easily deflected by Arthur who was a lot faster than the insect.
