"Something to tell me?"
Lucas repeated Mrs. Feng's words, followed by a hint of question.
Nodding, Mrs. Feng smiled faintly under Lucas' confused gaze. She put down her fork and knife.
"We should continue it over dessert. It'll be a long and heavy talk, Mr. Liu."
"...I understand, Mrs. Feng."
Still in a daze, Lucas inwardly told himself to snap out of it. He didn't know why Mrs. Feng's usually calm countenance showed a hint of sorrow when she talked to him earlier.
What was the matter?
Lucas recalled Mr. Feng's question before his wife chimed in. The middle-aged man asked whether he would go to a more prestigious place than the cafe he was currently working for.
Surely, they wouldn't try to headhunt him, en?
