In the distance, the three saw an abandoned tower. Although the tower looked like it could collapse at any moment, the trio still felt a slight throbbing in their chests upon seeing it.
"Hey Zam, has there always been a tower here?"
"No, we've been hunting in this place our whole lives and never seen a tower here at all."
"Yeah, this must be the source of that white light."
The three looked at each other.
"So, do you guys want to approach the tower?" Zam asked the two.
"Yeah, let's do it. Who knows, there might be a treasure inside. After all, the commotion this tower is producing is pretty huge. I'm sure other villages nearby are already making their way here."
"You're right, let's go."
The trio approached the tower with vigilance. Shortly after, they arrived at the entrance and saw a huge signboard on top of the big door with "Eternal Dungeon" written on it.
Zam then moved forward and tried to open the huge door. However, the door didn't even budge. Seeing this, the other two joined and pushed the door with all their strength, but alas, it didn't even budge a little.
While they were doing their best to move the door, someone was observing them.
It was Argon who had just come out and saw these three people pushing the door of the dungeon. The system had already told him that no one could open the dungeon, not even the strongest in this place.
"System, open the dungeon. Let's see how the dungeon operates."
[Ding: Opening the dungeon]
The trio, who were about to push the door, stopped because the door suddenly opened on its own. The three became excited, but shortly after, they were petrified. They didn't see the inside of the dungeon, but what greeted them was a huge teleportation portal.
The trio instinctively jumped back, looking nervously at the huge portal.
"Zam, should we run?" the timid one asked.
"No, we wait!"
"Okay, but as soon as I see something come out of that portal, I will run without caring about anything. No hard feelings."
Zam didn't respond but focused his gaze on the portal. A minute passed, but the portal remained as still as a clear pond.
"I think the portal is safe." Zam breathed a huge sigh of relief.
The other two also wiped the sweat off their foreheads.
"So, does anyone want to go in?" Zam looked at his two companions, who were avoiding eye contact and looking elsewhere.
'Sigh.' "Okay, I will go in. You two will stay here and wait for the captain and the others."
"Zam, what about waiting for them before going in?"
"Yeah, it's dangerous to go alone."
"It's okay. Whatever is on the other side, I will not act rashly. Besides, I only want to see what lies beyond that portal."
Zam was adventurous by nature. In his teens, he would go alone and venture into the forest, though only at the periphery.
He only stopped because he got married. Furthermore, his cultivation base was stuck at the half-step body tempering. He didn't know why, after all these years of practice, his cultivation base hadn't made a breakthrough at all, as though something was blocking him from advancing.
