|Little Red|
If you think, the wolf was joking when he ordered me to not to sleep without his permission ….. you'd be sadly mistaken. Yesterday, after the mishap that I don't even remember, I was forced to clean up after dinner. Then clean him, which was oddly not a bad experience. The worst came when I had to kneel by his bed, and wait. For him to do something, I do not even remember what excuse he came up with.
But I ended up getting his permission only three hours until I had to wake up.
Today though, he was gone before I awoke. And there was another list.
1: Clean the house. Start with the bedroom.
2: Prepare yourself breakfast, and take your medication.
3: Have a bath. And brush your teeth.
4: Go to the farm, and start working on some fruits and vegetables.
5: Get lunch from Mischa.
6: Make a list of your allergies, and leave them by the bed for me.
6.5: Think of a trade, or a means of work you would like to do, and write in that note as well. I don't want you to have too much free time.
7: Have a sandwich prepared, and stored in the fridge. That will get my dinner.
8: Eat dinner.
9: Bathe again, and brush your teeth.
10: Take your medication.
11: Sleep when the clock strikes nine pm.
Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous! Am I child? No, a pet? He has me in this collar that smells- it actually smells disgustingly like strawberries and I hate it! Because I love strawberries.
My idea of freedom is doing nothing. Not cleaning, and cooking like some simpleton!
And for god's grief, I don't even know what I did last night that made him angry.
I didn't run in the sight of danger? Maybe my body wanted me to die. Death would be freer than this! All I can recall is this man with a wing flew at me, then another one? I think. Then things went black. Like they always do after blood has been siphoned from me.
The headache, drowsiness and slight gaps in my memory is also an effect of my ability being used. Maybe I can practice. It obviously has something to do with my blood.
Well duh, Adele, your blood is what's cursed. And your eyes.
Get to work. Cleaning took most of my time but this time I knew what I was doing. I ate a fruit salad because everything in that cook book is all meat. And I'm not patient enough to bake, or even prepare whatever a french toast is.
I think the one part I love about his cave is the bathroom. I took my time getting clean, and then I dried off and wore one of the dresses Lopita swore will get my alpha to fall at my feet.
No, that wasn't how she said it.
Staring at my reflection, I cleared my throat. Pressed a hand to my chest.
"An alpha loves a woman who shows off her goodies for him. Bleh." I giggled, her voice has a slight pitch to it. The dress looks nice, and the berry Koana suggested I eat helped my hair grow till it paused underneath my ass.
Back to the dress, the top side is tight and squeezing the life out of my bosom but we all make sacrifices. I do like the boots.
The wolf has a stash of straps and knives, so I borrowed one and hid it around my thigh, under my dress. I spent the rest of my time brushing and adding cute pins to my hair. There, now I look like I actually want to be here.
A little bit of lip balm, dark eyeliner, and my look was almost complete.
My coat was the last piece. I tossed it on, and grabbed my basket.
I had the door open before they could even knock, "Hello," I greeted with a smile.
"I'm not sure whether to get disturbed, or excited that you're excited. Can we come in? We need to check if your home is clean, as clean as it should me."
I'm insulted, and I want to tell you that you face needs cleaning but that doesn't sound like a nice thing to say.
I stepped to the side, and they entered. All but Mischa who stayed outside.
"Don't you want to come in?"
"Not really. I uh…. I'm thinking of making a pie today. My husband is returning from the dark lands."
Come again? The what what?
"I don't know what that is."
"You don't know….. well, this Forest… isn't just a forest. It's a gateway , and home to thousands of creatures. The bad lands is where the witches live. They fly in brooms, they're responsible for almost every curse bestowed on someone."
That is interesting to know. About seventy years ago, or maybe longer, my little town was cursed. Everyone there could suddenly see things that they were not meant to see.
Could it be…. A witch cursed us?
"Why do witches curse people? Oh and, it must be terrifying for you to know that your husband is in such a dark place." I don't care. But I have too.
Mischa seems to appreciate my concern. "Thank you, I haven't been sleeping well. Ozai is a great alpha. Skilled in the weapons department. Witches curse as a way to either defend themselves, or to hurt someone who harmed them. The stronger the curse, the greater the witch's emotion. You know, like If someone killed your entire family, and you cursed them. Because your emotions are so strong, so connected to your family, the curse on that person would be horrendous."
Then I guess we weren't cursed by a witch. My little town was full of good people. No one would have done something so bad to a witch that she would curse us, to see…. All of this.
So there has to be another reason.
It doesn't matter. It's not like I want to get to the bottom of this. I want the curse gone. Fuck how it came to be.
Koana and the other girls returned from their search.
"You did well. After a few more tries, I'm sure you'll be able to get a spotless home. Now let's go to the farm!"
Yay, I could shoot myself from the excitement.
