Noah walked up to Lyria who was watching Ethan leave.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Right now, watch my back." Noah nods and sits next to Lyria.
"What really happened when you were sitting here?"
"I was a priestess back home. My skill is to nurture nature. The marks on my back prove that. I now have a special connection with nature. The Great Tree that we worshipped personally taught me many things, but their sacred and require a lot of energy. When you shook me earlier it made it to where I can't feel my legs right now. There are always consequences. One of the first lessons I was given. Anyways I don't have long and I still need to find a safe place so please watch my back." I connected with nature again.
I stayed connected with nature till Ethan came back with the food.
"Hey Lyria, Ethan's back."
"Why is she crying?" Ethan question Noah. He saw the tear tracks on her face and was curious why.
"I don't know but I do know when she's in this position not to touch her, so I haven't."
Ethan knelt down in front of Lyria.
"I'm Noah by the way. Lyria's traveling companion."
"Ethan, I helped her out one time."
"Is that safe for her?" Ethan was concerned about the small crying female.
"I don't know that either. I'm just going to trust that she knows what she's doing." Noah got up and stretched. "How can she sit in one spot for so long? My body hurts from sitting here."
"Hey Noah, can you get some coal for me." Lyria started to stretch as well.
"Did you do what you needed to do?" Noah went to gather some coal in a bowl.
"Yea, the tunnel is opened again. It seems most of the females are gathered in a large tent for the day which is good but now it's night and they were being taken out one by one."
"How are you going to get any information if the only ones you can talk to aren't there."
"You won't like what I have to say so I'll keep that to myself. Just know I know how things work in there, I can get some information." I swallowed the bile in my throat.
"You okay?"
"No but I want to try to save the females if I can, so that's what I'll focus on."
"You're a female, you don't have to do this."
"I know but males will be male so I'm here for the females that for some reason are still holding onto hope that one, just maybe one day, they'll get out. So I'm going to help. Besides they may not want a male around them right now."
"Why not?" I gave Noah an 'are you serious look'.
"What I went through was hard and in over two years you're the first male I'm willing to let touch me. What the others went through is much worse so, put the pieces together and try to understand why." I turned my back to him and poured water into the bowl of coal and mixed it together till it was mush.
I then applied it to my hair, turning my white hair black/gray.
"Nice," Noah commented.
"Yeah, you act like you've done it before." Ethan spoke as well.
"My white hair is very noticeable. At a young age, I learned how to hide myself. I'm almost fifteen, so I've been doing this for a long time now." Both male's eyes went wide and it took a second before I realized what I said.
"I'm leaving. I'll be back in the morning." I quickly gathered what I needed and took off for Blackmist. I don't need a male right now.
"She just told us what she went through and how she doesn't want males around and we go and show her our excitement. Not a smart move on our part." Noah's smart mouth said after Lyria walked away.
"I'll be back in the morning."
"Yeah, I'll be here."
"I'll be here to meet Lyria," Ethan stated so Noah would know he wasn't interested in him.
Noah nods and waves his hand to shoo away Ethan.
