Yang Rai spent the remainder of that year in Star Boundary to take care of things. As the vice-Palace master he had duties to attend to as well as take a portion of the Artifact refinement requests. Though he would generally leave the majority to the chief Artifact Refiner Hou Yu. It was better for the other aspiring refiners to get challenging tasks to improve their abilities. Hou Yu managed this portion of the Sect rather well. Yang Rai's major duties were mostly just special requests and handing out rewards for meritorious deeds. He would also roam the Star boundary and find new talents to nurture.
He would run the selection events alongside Hua Qing Si. This was a way for him to see how the Elders of various major Forces reacted. He invited them to watch the events. They were impressed by just how many times he would hold selections. It hit them that he was reading their reactions like a book. Even the slightest reaction to the young talents was quickly noticed. Yang Rai would collect this information and compile it together. He was on the tip of figuring out the secret. He didn't feel bad for acting this way since they refused to bring Void Land up to speed.
After several years, Yang Rai's four wives had given birth to his now 4 more children. One boy and three girls. His first two daughters held them close. Talking about how they'll be the best big sisters ever. It was also at this time when Yu Xiang Die, the representative elder from Yin-Yang Heaven came with a request to see Yang Rai as soon as possible. He did make her wait a few hours so he could enjoy the larger family he now had. Of course he ordered for the elder to be provided with tea and a few light snacks since she was going to be waiting.
Yang Rai entered the room, Yu Xiang Die could tell instantly he was in a good mood from the way he was walking. A smile on his face and no airs. Yang Rai sat down in his chair to conduct the business at hand.
"Yang Rai, I wonder if you know why I've come here today?"
"I have a few ideas. Though I'd be surprised if not a single one was right."
"Well I have come today because my Yin-Yang Heaven has found two Universe Columns in their recent trips. One is the Clear Yang Lake, and the other the Mystical Meadows Flower. I have brought with me 1 piece of each of these."
"Today couldn't get any better. Please let me confirm the two Columns."
Yu Xiang Die handed over the pieces she had brought. Yang Rai inspected them carefully to make sure they were indeed the Universe 12 Columns. After inspecting them for what seemed like a mere moment to Yu Xiang Die, Yang Rai pulled out the rewards for completing the quest.
"Here is the promised reward upon completion. I'm giving you a small bonus since you brought them to me today."
"You seem to be in a good mood today."
"Because my wives have given birth today. 3 baby girls and a boy."
"Congratulations Yang Rai, That's wonderful news."
"Thank you, Elder Yu Xiang Die. They will surely grow up to be strong."
