A small mound of ashes began moving around the beach at a frightening speed. Zenon clutched the hilt of the Corrosive Shard tightly as he watched the serpent's movement.
After some seconds of inaction, the serpent got out from the ashes and launched itself toward Aurea.
"Wat-"
*Screech!*
Yet before Zenon could even say a word, another serpent came from the ground. The difference? This serpent wasn't a Layer Beast.
This one was covered in white scales and had two lifeless purple eyes along with two horns protruding from its forehead. It wasn't hard to guess who it was.
'Leviathan?!'
From deep inside the void, Leviathan appeared by diving towards the enormous Third-Rank Mindful. Even if Layer Beast was way bigger than him, Leviathan had his objective clear.
He aimed right at its neck.
