Once again, Zenon was thinking if coming here was a good idea. His hands began sweating, and the cold breeze now became an unstoppable inferno.
Just looking at Valeria made time stop, and he wished it was in a good way.
His thoughts, once calm and logical, became erratic and irrational. The only word that was echoing inside his mind was 'Escape'.
"You okay? Your face went pale."
Zenon's body stiffed after hearing that soft voice that once took care of him in his darkest moments. Shaking his head, he forced himself to sit beside Valeria.
His mouth opened but he felt how closed his throat was. After some seconds, he swallowed and said.
"It's hard to come here you know."
"Hmm?" Valeria tilted her head. "Hard? Do you hate me that much?"
Zenon turned his head, looking at the little pout Valeria made. He quickly straightened his back as he tried to say something, making her smile before laughing.
