Chapter 35 - 35| The boy's identity

TRIANA'S POV

In the night of it, Dexter and I made love, despite the drama that took place in his house today, it didn't stop us from doing what we want to do.

From the bed to the sofa, from the sofa to the wall, from the wall to shower and from the shower to the bathtub, it was all about the fantasy of love and now we're both draining on sweats mixed with water in the tub. He had to collapse on me for a while, still underneath him in the bathtub before wedging his weight on his arms which was now resting on both slabs of the tub while am caged in the water, at his middle.

His fingers and the back of his hand came caressing the side of my face. "An epitomy of beauty." The words fell out of him, deep and seductive, causing me to smile. "You're getting fat lately. Is there something I should be blamed for?"

"When will you stop teasing me? Hmm?" My hands wrapped around his neck as he kisses my forehead and then, my lips. His tongue licking my lower lip like a lollipop.

His eyes never leaving mine for a while like he was studying something about me.

"What is it?" His expression is not fine as I asked. A sigh left his nostrils and I pull up a bit. "Is it about what happened earlier today?" I didn't wait for him to answer before going further. "Though am still mad at her for keeping such secret away from me all these years. I can't believe Alyssa is so secretive even when I used to share mine with her. Do you think Dave will ever forgive her?"

For a moment he kept quiet, pulling to his side of the tub as he settles down, causing us to sit facing each other. "I don't know, Triana." He rubbed his temple, exhaling. "Dave has an habit of holding onto something for life. If he likes something, he likes that person for life but when it turns to the other side, he detest that person and I have no idea for how long is he going to hold onto that childish story, honey."

"Childish?" I can't believe he's addressing what we heard hours ago as childish.

"Of course it is." He shrugged, eyes a bit agape. "They were young and stupid. It was just a one time thing without protection and she conceived just like that, like seriously, I don't believe pregnancy takes place in a nightstand." Oh wow, he thinks so. "Moreover, I believe my brother very well. He's not the boy's father." My brows creased. Seriously?

"Really? Okay, am not trying to cover up my friend's ass here but I still believe he is responsible for the pregnancy seventeen years ago."

A sarcastic laugh left his mouth, enveloping the bathroom. My brows creased deeper, surprised by his latter tune. "Don't be ridiculous, honey." His hand grabbing a clean white towel from the towelettes. "There's no way that child belongs to Dave. She probably took someone else's responsibility and attached it on my brother because she knew he loved her."

Men will always be men. Just listen to the tantrums he's talking. He's talking nonsense, hiding his brother's image from getting ruined. I know I shouldn't interfere much in this issue but am still a woman. Just imagine it was to be me. Just imagine I was in Alyssa's shoes and all these things happened in my life.

At least, mine is better. I got married before getting pregnant, I wasn't a laughing stock or some kinda slut—

Language, Triana.

Ahem ahem.

I mean to say, I wasn't seeing anyone when I was a teenager, no boyfriend just my life with me alone until I met Leo. But in other case, it wasn't like that in the life of Alyssa. This is pain inflicted on her. What a stain. Caring the baby for a few time in her womb before going to deliver it and kept it in an incubator for months.

How has she been managing with all these struggles in her life so far?

I somehow pity for her.

I began to imagine teenage Alyssa with a protruding stomach.

"I believe Alyssa, Dex."

"And I don't." Dexter walked out of the water, wrap the towel around his waist, covering his lower nudes from me. His eyes found their way back to my face again. "My brother is infertile."

In—what? "Sorry, I don't seem to understand."

"Oh, Triana, come on, what's there not to understand? You're a nurse for goodness sake, you should know what am talking about." When I didn't say anything, he added with a sigh. "It's supposed to be a secret but am telling you because I trust you. And you should keep it between us. Okay? Fine. Dave is diagnosed with azoospermia." What? The? Fuck? "It's from hierarchy and it was said to have started from ancestry in my family."

He sat on the solid slab of the tub, arms crossed over his chest as he explains further. "They said he was born or somewhat reincarnated through my great-great-great-grandfather who once has the same illness from childbirth. And the only way that spell can be broken from the linage of the Martinson family is if a woman bare his child. So you see why it's so difficult to believe that Alyssa has Dave's son."

For a moment, I try to process and study everything he just said. It sounds like a moonlight folktale in my ears. Is it still possible that the boy's for Dave or Alyssa just want to put it on him?

"We should do something to confirm this." I said, wrapping my arms around my legs in the water. Dexter still doesn't understand my point. "I'll get Alyssa to bring the boy's blood sample while you'll get Dave's blood sample as well. Because the DNA test report might be truly fake but if I take the blood samples to the lab myself, then I can tell if he's really Dave's child or not."

"But Triana—"

"Honey, I know it's not easy as said. But we have to try if we really want to sort things out for these two people and end whatever crisis that's happening between them."

"Apart from her fault sleeping with some dudes during their relationship, it's only the boy's identity we're talking about here." He stated, surely and I shook my head.

"Absolutely," I tuck a strand and sigh. Doing this won't be easy but I hope it works out well.

"So....what are your plans and ideas? How do we start this thing anyway?"
