Chapter 114 - Twisted Tales (IV)

Toxicity Levels are 60% composed of unnatural component called Mortuvivaeter. I was always confused why they called it that but the other name for the particle was R.M.T.P.E.D. (Radioactive Mutative Toxicity Plasma Electromagnetic Life Destroyer). The Life devourer was the common folk name for this mass destructive wave. Funnily enough the government assured everyone they would be fine if they stayed within the bunkers they made.

-

The bunkers didn't even have an air filtration system or any kind of food stockpile they were just metal death traps with a label saying bunker on it. I wish I hadn't witnessed the thousands of deaths that had happened. I sat down by the glass case with 2-inch-thick glass that had a vent atop that filtered out some toxins to let this plant thrive keeping the toxicity the same amount. I picked up my tools and began Maintenace after closing the vent making sure all the mechanical pieces were working some showed were and tear but were otherwise fine for now due to their being no living things beside me on this planet.

-

I then restarted the system and let it continue its work as I went onto the surface after seeing that the system was working well and began to plant the seeds of the Purifying flower. I also began to measure the mana in the air and strangely there was none even though I was sure the magical creatures used mana. I began to walk to the next base and the next just continuously doing Maintenace until I got to the last one where a small crack in space appeared, so I began to walk through it feeling the mana coming from the other side only to step into an absolute wasteland.

{Warning Warning Toxicity Levels Have reached 90%}

-

I looked around even though I knew that the toxicity would slowly wear out my suit at this level causing me to have to replace it sooner than I would want. I saw the parched broken compact ground with water far in the distance getting absorbed into the mud below there was no sign of any life just water mud and ground. I frowned realizing I may have killed us all but in relity I truly destroyed two planets chances of recovering without my help after all it had already been so many damn years and still the toxicity was at the maximum it could be for a world.

-

This world was doomed and I would never allow it to recover so I began to walk back into the portal and I appeared in the desolate waste that Earth now is.

-

Flashback

-

"Sir they are breaking through the froughtline again where is the Annihilation device you were working on you said it would make a planet inhabitable for billions of years?"

-

I responded with "Yes I said that, but I also require time to get it to be superbly adaptable to mana due to this being my first time dealing with a particle so magical I even have to make it eat mana within living things to grow due to the higher ups orders of course I love the challenge, but I am not that great of a genius." My hand begins to tremble as I finish the device it is even bigger than this room and as long as this device is turned on it shall constantly produce R.M.T.P.E.D.

-

I than sent out the announcement to the masses to hide within their shelters and pressed the button I knew I would be dooming them, but we all were dead anyway except those cowards who decided to leave in spaceships Dam Aristocrats and scientists. I picked up the timer I had set and ran to my personal shelter I created probably the only one that could withstand this thing. I than saw a strange screen appear in front of me as the device went off, I shook my hand to disperse the hallucination.

I began to cry seeing on the cameras the people begin to melt decay and burn from the inside out the effects varied so much because I wanted to make sure everything would die; I even saw a dragon blow up like a ballon covering a few buildings in blood. I cried and began to distract myself by looking at the terminal, but they simply sent a video of what they saw and how rapid the green began to leach out of the earth staining it sand colored.

-

I wish there was another was there another way could I have negotiated with the dragons Afterall they could speak our language but would attack us quite often. They also could control the lesser beasts as they called them maybe with enough threats or enough gifts, we might have been able to stop their invasion without so much loss of life. I pulled up my very thin and sharp knife and began to cut into my already scared arm to stop the pain of the heart with pain of the flesh.
