Chapter 41 - The Heart Of Darkness

I was made by humans to pump mana through the castle and repair it using earth magic but since the decades have passed no new humans have come here. My heart has begun to change from the death and shadow mana lurking in the air staining and corrupting me, but my mind hasn't changed I just feel more in control and am actually starting to grow breaking the chains that hold me from expanding my veins throughout this castle. I try to make tendrils of mana veins come out from the castle and make legs, but it hurts for my veins to be exposed to both sun and air. I am part of the castle but now it is completely merged with me, and my mana sight covers a 1-mile radius outside the 4 miles cubed city.

The dark black brick that forms my skin shifts repairing all the hidden cracks the dust regathering forming back into the bricks they were once the decay reversed due to my awakening. I feel my rage rise at my creators who created me and cared for me showing me love but abandoning me at the end never staying with me forever. I remember them leaking a red liquid then never showing up again my skin being stained by it showing the places where people had vanished. They always left behind something with which I could use to reinforce my walls it was white but much slimer then them missing key components to be them.

The towers grew eyes made of shadow and death mana seeming to appear like the eyes of Sauron to outside invaders or people. The castle was shadowed in a deathly fog that would only fade at mid-day the four towers at each corner projecting a beam of darkness. I began to walk toward the humans their lifeforce blazing against the surrounding weak trees that withered away quickly turning into a forest of death simply due to my Prescence. I then saw a skeletal corpse of a giant bow to me, but I paid it no mind until it tried to follow me and then I used it to grow my death area consuming the darkness and death within it a shrill scream echoing from the skeleton as its begun to dissolve the soul trying its damnest to get away.

I continued walking towards the human village, which was getting evacuated, but I got there before they could fully evacuate. The saturation of the death mana around me killed every regular human a few humans begun to prey to their gods, but my corruption had already destroyed their connections to their gods. I the used My Soul to scream "YOU ABANDONED ME LEFT ME TO DIE MY OWNERS THEY ALL LEFT ME THEY SAID THEY WOULD ALWAYS REPAIR ME BUT NOW I AM DECRIPIT I HAVE FALLEN SO I MUST REPAIR MYSELF NO MATTER THE COST maybe then they will come back to me."

The mages began to scream because controlling any mana other than death mana was so difficult due to the imbalance near me. I the consumed their souls while the warriors began to smash my skin which repaired rapidly. I then reformed each soul into a perfect human form that would never die and be with me eternally like my owners had said they would. I must fill this city with inhabitants yet again I must make this place a center of commerce, but I can only handle undead and this creature that those flesh bags called vampires but to me they were perfect humans needing no consumption ever their lifespans unable to end them getting more powerful the older they are.

Isn't that the perfect human with no weaknesses growing stronger the more they decide to grow isn't it the perfect being the ultimate one I created? Then I heard a warrior crack a vein of mine and I reflexively reacted pumping him full of shadow mana and his flesh decay getting absorbed into his shadow which slowly grew into a black and several grays figure with a lot of detail. They could be the guards of my majestic city being immune to physical attacks the vampires being the mages or if either wished they could become either, but they were bound to me they still have free will but now they must recognize me as their home and stay here.

I then walked forward and heard the scream of an angel as they saw me screaming "HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. YOU MUST NEVER EXIST DIE HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HEREASY. HERETIC DIE." a beam of light fell from the sky not even removing a speck of shadow from the fog surrounding me healing the inhabitants that might get hurt by these spiteful creatures that know no mercy.
