Chapter 1 - Ch.1: The Maharlika's End

____________________________________________

—Ron's POV—

I sighed as I watched the sky covered in dark fumes of smoke and burning embers.

Ron: boring...

I muttered under my breath.

*Ting!*

A bullet struck my armor, taking me out of my deep thoughts.

Ron: hmm...?

I glanced forward and saw hundreds of millions of soldiers with their armored vehicles, mechs, and monsters marching towards me. I tilted my head to the side before letting out a deep sigh through my nostrils.

Ron: this has gotten very boring... I've lived for 750,000+ years and everything has been nothing but war. I've fought endless wars that had destroyed and burned worlds, solar systems and even galaxies. I've fought and killed hundreds of billions of soldiers, monsters and xenos on those many worlds and different galaxies. I've fought alongside Heaven, defeated the Devil himself, and destroyed Hell. Me and my brothers and sisters have saved humanity from countless horrors that this universe has thrown at us. Carried our people over our shoulders like Atlas carrying the world. Now... Humanity is strong enough to protect itself from anything that may threaten it. They no longer need us... So what's the point in continuing to live any longer...?

*Pew! Pew! Pew!*

*Bang! Bang!*

*BRRRRRT!*

*Boom, boom, boom, boom!*

Ron: hmm...

I looked around and watched the world around me explode into fire and destruction. The land was covered in craters and flames created by falling bombs and artillery fire. The ground shook as more explosions continued.

Once a garden world, now a broken and barren husk of floating mass of rock filled with corpses and death. I thought, after defeating the demon god, united all of humanity and subjugated the hostile Xenos races, peace would have finally come.

But no...

Humanity's greed will never be sated, revolutions and rebellions can never be suppressed, and demons... They can never truly die. War and Chaos is truly and forever eternal.

*Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!*

*Ding! Ding!*

*Ping!*

Ron: mnm...?

I was again taken out from my train of thoughts as a hail of bullets and plasma bolts struck my armor and dozens of explosions occurred around me. I looked straight ahead and stared blankly at another marching army of enemy soldiers firing at me from a very far distance.

Ron: seriously...?

I sighed and charged up my triple barreled rotating gatling rail gun and fired 2,000 adamantine bolts at the enemy in seconds, annihilating the entire army in a few minutes

*BRRRRRT!*

Ron: so annoying...

—5 hours later—

I completely run out of ammo, so I have no other choice but to fight them in close range. I unsheathed my monomolecular edged sword, a Binangon, and stared at my reflection on the blade before looking back at the enemy army. I gave them a pitiful before charging at them and massacring them all. A few hours later, I was done and now standing still with my whole body covered in blood and gore of my enemies. I sighed one last time before eyeing the thousands of corpses laying around me.

Ron: this'll be hard to clean.

I mumbled, wiping blood off my visor. Then I noticed something odd. The enemy has stopped coming in waves.

Ron: what's going on.

I was confused as to why they've stopped sending more soldiers to deal with me. Then the confusion turned to concern as my sixth sense blared, warning me of danger coming. My communication device then crackled to life and a voice spoke with urgency.

Comms: Lord Maharlika! Please evacuate the planet immediately!

Ron: why?

Comms: our intelligence has learned that the Eldians have secretly planted a Black-Hole Bomb on the Planet surface. They plan to destroy the entire world with everyone on it, Including you, my lord.

I groaned in annoyance before nodding.

Ron: send a shuttle to retrieve me.

Comms: affirmative, my lord. A shuttle craft will be there in a few minutes.

I then waited for a few minutes for the shuttle to arrive. Soon, I saw the shuttle craft descending from the sky and landing right in front of me. It's opened, revealing two men greeting me and gesturing for me to enter. I nodded and started walking towards the shuttle.

*BOOM!*

But the shuttle unexpectedly exploded. I looked to where the plasma bolt came from and saw a dying soldier with his lower half missing and a heavy plasma launcher on his shoulder. He grinned like crazy, showing his blood stained teeth, and then gave me a middle finger before dying on the spot.

That made me chuckle in a bit of amusement.

Ron: rude...

*BOOM!*

I looked up at the sky after hearing the loud explosion and saw my ship, Terra's Embrace, being fired at and rammed by dozens of enemy cruisers. Severely damaging my ship and causing her to retreat.

Comms: My lord! Your ship, Terra's Embrace, is-

Ron: I know. I saw it. Can you send another shuttle?

I said, cutting him off from his sentence.

Comms: I can't my lord! The flag ship, Imperium's Wrath, is too far away to send a shuttle to retrieve you and the bomb is 2 minutes away from detonating.

I frowned for a moment after hearing that before my eyes widened in realization.

Ron: so that's their plan.

I could help but chuckle. The enemy had deliberately baited us to this world, distracting us long enough to plant a bomb that would generate a black hole to devour this entire world, destroy my ship, only to kill me.

Ron: Their plan was killing me from the very start.

comms: my lord?

I chuckled again at my predicament, ignoring the worried voice in my communication device.

Ron: now I'm trapped here with no ways to escape.

Comms: I'm sorry, my lord.

The man on my communication device apologized solemnly as if he was at fault.

Ron: it's fine. How much time do I have left?

Comms: 1 minute and 12 seconds, my lord.

Ron: hmm... Enough time to leave a final message.

Comms: my lord?

Ron: send a message to Alex and Morgana.

Comms: to the lady Valkyrie and supreme sorceress?

Ron: yes. Tell them I am sorry that I can no longer return to them and have all my inheritance be given to the two of them equally. And have my title of Supreme Commander be given to Alex along with my ship.

Comms: is that all, my lord?

Ron: yes.

I nodded with a sad smile.

Comms: as you wish my lord. 30 seconds until detonation.

Ron: hmm... What's your name?

I asked curiously about the man in my communication device.

Comms: my name is Harold, my lord.

Ron: Mnm! Then it was a pleasure meeting you Harold.

Comms: you too, my lord.

Ron: I hope Alex and Morgana won't get mad when I die.

Comms: I doubt it, my lord.

We both chuckled.

Ron: yeah.

Harold then started counting backwards from 5.

Comms: detonation in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1...

*Rumble!*

A bright light appeared over the horizon, illuminating the entire world and shining the battlefield for me to see it filled with countless corpses and destroyed vehicles.

Ron: a Black hole, huh?

I chuckled. The last time I was devoured by one was two hundred thousand years ago. I only survived because of the magical enchantment and protection spells I had along with the powers I used to have. Now I have neither as my powers have been purposefully sealed by me and fhe enhancement and protection spells are now gone. Will I still survive this? I doubt it. I can just resurrect myself if I did die. But I won't. not this time.

Harold: will you return, my lord?

Ron: not this time.

Harold: I see. It was a great honor serving you, my lord.

Ron: same, Harold, same.

I smiled sadly as I watched the black hole grow and slowly devour the world I stood.

Harold: my lor... [Static] can you... [Static] I'm losing yo...

Harold tried to speak to me but I turned off my communication device and just sat down on the giant metal hand near me. I watched closely as my end slowly came in the form of a large black hole.

Ron: heh! Beautiful...

I commented, admiring its beauty and then closed my eyes, letting the darkness finally consume me.

Ron: I can finally have my rest.

I sighed as I felt my body being torn into pieces and compressed at the same time. Ripped apart from atom by atom. I can survive a star going super nova, yet I can't survive a hungry Black Hole-chan. Interesting...

I gave an inaudible chuckle as I let myself continue to be ripped apart by the Black hole. It wasn't painful, to be honest. I have felt much worse than this. My eyes felt tired and my consciousness began to fade away, but before I was embraced by oblivion, I let out one last word.

Ron: YOLO!

I shouted before my world completely turned dark.

???: not yet.

A mysterious voice said before a sound of a hand snapping its fingers was heard.

*Snap!*

End of Chapter.
