Lauritz's POV
As soon as the prisoners started pouring out of the gate, Lauritz concealed himself in the shadows of the bridge again.
He was going to have to go all or nothing, if he wanted to get out of there alive.
But as soon as Lauritz looked down the precipice that unfolded below the bridge, he realized it was easier said than done.
He felt as though the darkness of the abyss below him was calling him to join the souls of the prisoners he dropped from there.
To join Allen's soul.
But the men were already closing in on him, and he needed to move fast, or else...
'No!' Lauritz slapped himself internally. 'No "or else"!'
He jumped over the guard rail, holding firmly as he felt the invisible pull of the darkness below him, while hearing the prisoners' footsteps and chatter.
'Shit!'
He let one hand go of the guard rail, and then one foot, leaning sideways.
