"W-Wait!" Nerium shouted.
"But I never thought the demon lord's daughter would be this cute!!" Yuna exclaimed, cuddling with Nerium in the living room. There was a hint of panic in Nerium's expression, mixed with a touch of embarrassment.
"Yuna... you're interacting with a demon lord's daughter! What if she decides to start a war with this country?" Yukki's concern was evident as she began to raise her voice.
"Don't worry. I wouldn't engage in a war I cannot win," Nerium reassured.
"So, why are you here?" Yuna turned her attention back to Nerium, still patting her head. Remarkably, Nerium seemed to tolerate the attention well.
"I'm here to discuss a peace treaty between humans and demons," Nerium explained.
"Interesting. But why come to us? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to approach the king for such matters? We lack the authority to negotiate a peace treaty," Yuna questioned, her tone thoughtful.
"B-Because I thought that if I reached out to you, you could help me reach the king..." Nerium's voice trailed off in uncertainty.
"Too bad for you! We don't have any connections to the king," Yuna stated, and Nerium's expression began to reflect sadness.
"But... we can assist you in getting an audience with him," Yuna continued with a smile.
"Really? You would?" Nerium turned towards Yuna, looking directly into her eyes.
"Absolutely! But since we're adventurers, it wouldn't be fair if we didn't receive some form of compensation, right?" Yuna held up a gold coin.
"Can I give you a personal quest right here, right now?" Nerium sat up straight, her gaze locked onto Yuna's eyes.
"What do you think, Yukki?" Yuna turned her attention to Yukki, who was seated across the table.
"I never imagined that the demon lord's daughter would offer us a quest..." Yukki muttered to herself.
"That's alright! I can guarantee she's on our side. With my lie detector, I can spot any falsehood," Yuna proudly displayed her V sign on her right eye.
"Lie detector?" Nerium inquired.
"Indeed! The lie detector is one of my original magic spells. As its name suggests, it can identify any lie, regardless of who's speaking," Yuna explained, a hint of smugness in her demeanor.
"Impressive... to have the ability to detect lies. I'm relieved I've been truthful to you," Nerium muttered softly.
"Pretty amazing, right?" Yuna continued to pet Nerium, as if she were a pet.
"Well... if that's what you want, I can't complain. Though it might cause a commotion at the guild," Yukki sighed, her tone resigned.
"No worries! I can teach her the art of true disguise!" Yuna declared.
"E-Eh?! You'd teach me how to disguise myself?" Nerium's surprise was evident.
"Of course! I'll show you one of my original magic spells. It's a basic skill for disguising," Yuna responded.
"Then please!" Nerium's eyes sparkled with anticipation. It seemed she was genuinely eager to enhance her abilities in this regard.
"Great! Let's head outside," Yuna said, taking Nerium's hand and leading her outdoors to an empty plateau.
"Observe carefully, alright?" Yuna released Nerium's hand and stepped forward.
"What are you planning?" Nerium inquired.
"Just watch," a magic circle appeared at Yuna's feet.
"Mimicry!" Yuna cast a spell, and her appearance transformed into an exact replica of Nerium. Suddenly, there were two Neriums facing each other.
"Amazing! How did you manage to look like me?" Nerium marveled.
"This is my original spell, Mimicry. It allows you to mimic the appearance of anything," Yuna explained.
"But could I ever do something like this?" Nerium muttered to herself.
"The key is to envelop yourself in your mana and visualize the desired change," Yuna revealed.
"I see... I'll give it a try," Nerium closed her eyes, concentrating on the task at hand. After a moment, her body began to emit a radiant glow, and her form started to shift. What form was Nerium trying to take? Eventually, the transformation was complete, and she slowly opened her eyes.
"Ugh... did it work?" Nerium asked, clearly unsure.
"Looks like it worked like a charm!" Yuna pointed at her. Nerium had transformed into a figure with snow-white hair and eyes, dressed in elegant white attire that gave her the appearance of a snow princess.
"Kyaa! You look even cuter in white!" Yuna squealed, pulling Nerium into a hug.
"R-Really?" Nerium blushed slightly, but she didn't seem to mind Yuna's enthusiasm.
"Tomorrow, we'll head to the town to register you as an adventurer," Yuna announced, lifting her hand in determination.
"Eh?! Ehhhhhhhhhhh?!?" Nerium exclaimed in surprise.
