There was absolute silence in the dinning area as Devon tried to process the sudden announcement. He leaned farther into his chair and tilted his head to the side as he watched Olivia considerately for a long moment.
"Do you mean you need to leave the dinning area now, or..." Devon began to say.
"I want to leave this place! I want to go back home! Take me back to my house." Olivia said.
Devon scoffed softly as he quietly picked his fork up from the table and began to dig around in his untouched plate of salad, but he still did not eat anything.
"Why did you scoff? What? You won't let me leave? Is that it?" Olivia asked.
"No." Devon replied simply, not looking up from his plate.
"What? Why? Why can't I leave? Why won't you let me go?" Olivia cried. Devon set his fork back down, slamming it hard against the dining table so that everything on it shook vigorously.
"Because I said so, Olivia! No, you can't leave." He yelled.
