The elevator resumed descent again, at a normal pace, but Olivia had passed out. She could not recover from the shock she had suffered through all the series of rapid events that she had just experienced. From getting chased in the hallway up to the roof, to the elevator suddenly getting stuck in descent, to it suddenly free falling, and then, Devon had suddenly showed up out of thin air. Like literally thin air, in a tightly shut elevator, that was free falling at a very high speed! Her fragile heart just couldn't take anymore, so she passed out.
Devon lifted her off the ground and carried her in his arms for the rest of the ride down the elevator.
