Olivia felt so light in Marcus' arms as he carried her to his car, and he imagined just how much she must have suffered. Even though it was now unbelievably clear that Devon had been holding on to her protectively, Marcus could also tell that Olivia had not been at Devon's mansion of her own free will. And knowing Olivia the way he had come to know her over the little space of time since he met her again, she was too strong willed to relax when she was being held against her will. So, he kind of believed that most of her suffering might have been more emotional than physical. But as he looked down into her face, he saw the small crack in her lips which said otherwise. There had definitely been a physical confrontation too, if not battery.
