Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Will you be my Romeo then I'll be your Juliet ~Johnny Drille.

"Mr. Jack" Mr. Wilson called and a young man who was talking to a group of people turns facing us.

What the fuck!?

He was gorgeous. No, I mean handsome. You see I'm not so good at describing humans but believe me you need to see this young man.

He had a light brown-like golden hair, his eyes were like the surface of an ocean, his lips were not only small but was colored light cherry matte, his eye brows were arched, he had scanty side beard that were perfectly carved and I must say his pointed nose suited his face.... Jack was HOT!

I didn't realize I've been staring at this figure for minutes not until Mr. Wilson tapped me... maybe thrice.

"Eliora meet Jack, he will be acting as Romeo in the play" Mr. Wilson introduced us and we shook hands.

"Nice to meet you" Jack said with his masculine thick flirtatious voice.

"Pleasure" smile crept from my lips.

I'll be playing a romantic role with... this handsome man?

We are prone to fall in love, even if he doesn't ... I'll definitely fall in love with him.

I couldn't move my eyes away from him as I was going through the script, Mr. Wilson left to prepare the stage for rehearsal, some side characters prepare for their scenes, some ladies prepare costumes and all of it, I was so lost in this drama whole thing and for a minute I forgot ... I was an agricultural student.

"Are you ready?" Mr. Wilson approached I and Jack but this time, he came with someone.

"This is Mr. Robert Allan Ackerman, one of the best movie director in NY" Mr. Wilson introduced the person he came with and we exchanged warm pleasantries by handshakes.

"So, Miss. Ganes, are you ready?" Robert asked and I nodded and turn to Jack.

"My Juliet, let's rehearse" Jack said to me with a sweet tone and I smiled like a coward... yes, maybe I was.

A calm melancholy music plays on the background and the play begins, the first scene was perfected, the second scene was perfected and third scene, I and Jack were on the stage.

"Mi Juliet, how do we doeth? My clans do not accept our feeling?" Jack as Romeo said.

"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet" I said sadly trying to fit into the role.

"O that I were a glove upon that hand that I might touch that cheek!" Jack said these as we lean on the wall, the third scene was rounded partially as I was exhausted... it wasn't something I was used to, not when there's a hot guy next to me making my cheeks all hot.

Mr. Wilson and Director Robert gave us a break and the music gradually fades, I gulped down the bottle water as Mr. Wilson approached me.

"For a science head, you did great" He smiled.

"I need the grade" I scoffed and he laughed, Director Robert approached us.

"You need to rehearse your lines and put more emotions to it. Romeo is your lover and your both clans are against your union... You should be sad on loosing your lover" Director Robert explained the scenes meticulously and I nodded.

"Take it easy on her huh... this isn't real movie" Mr. Wilson teased.

"Sure, excuse me" Director Robert leaves to tell the others of the next scene and Mr. Wilson followed.

I looked at the mirror and exhaled, the make up that was applied on my face looked horrible... Did Romeo actually fall in love with Juliet? I mean with such horrible kitschy makeup? I continued cursing myself in my mind not realizing someone has been standing behind me.

"You did great" His voice called me out.

"Oh.. thanks" I said nervously.

"Are you ready for the last scene?" Jack asked.

"Last scene?" I asked in surprise because the last Romeo and Juliet novel I read, it had almost seventy to eighty chapters if not even more.

"The director decided to scrap out some part that aren't necessary" Jack paused while I listened.

"We will be acting the first scene where they met, the second scene where their clans argued, the third scene where we meet again, the fourth scene where you meet your clan with Paris and the last scene where we both die..." Jack explained briefly.

"It's shorter this way" I hovered over and he chuckled.

"Easier said than done" Jack said.

"Romeo and Juliet" our drama name echoed from the bustling rehearsal ground.

"Our call" Jack said.

"I'll meet you" I said.

As Jack leaves, a lady walks in to change my dress and reapply another make up on my face. While she did that, I checked my phone.

"20 missed calls from Nathan" I muttered as I clicked on the tons of message notification.

"Hey babe"

"I didn't see you in class, where are you?"

"Are we still meeting? Let me know"

"Eliora, what'sup?"

"I'm at the park? Will you be here soon, I'll wait for you"

"At least take your calls, are you right?"

"Call me when you are free".

"Babe, I'm still waiting and I'm so tired"

As I scroll slowly, I read the messages and sighed sadly.

"I almost forgot about our meeting" I sighed.

"You're good now" the make up artist said with smile on her face and I clicked my phone to sleep, took a last look at the large mirror and left.

Trying to perfect the last scene, Jack takes the lethal drug and stared at it.

The sad emotional instrument plays on the background, the stage had dark colored lights with coffin and roses on it, aside the director and Mr. Wilson, other student watching the play had sad facial expression, some were even sniffling softly. I watched Jack in silence waiting for my turn to come.

"Come, bitter conduct, come, unsavoury guide! The dashing rocks thy sea-sick weary bark. Here's to my love!"

"Oh happy dagger, this is thy sheath: Thy rust and let me die" Jack said these world with full sad and loving expression that even I felt hurt... as if I was loosing my world, I cried for real.

My part reached and as the director said, I leap walk to the stage as if I were dancing and at the sight of Jack lying in the coffin, tears gathered around my eyelids and rolled to my cheeks, I really couldn't control it.

"Here's to my love! O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die" I kissed Jack! Or was it Romeo... fuck it, I kissed someone. It was part of the play though, I kissed Romeo hoping to die by the poison but it didn't work.

"O happy dagger, this is thy sheath" as I said, I unsheathed Jack's dagger and stabbed myself to death falling unto Jack.

Everyone falls silent including the light music....

"Wo ho!" claps and shouts comes from the audience as Mr. Wilson and the director walk up to the stage.

"Good!"

"Great" Director Robert and Mr. Wilson said.

"We shall have the last wrap up tomorrow" Director Robert said.

We bid farewell and began arranging our costumes and personal stuffs, I was about sending an apology text to Nathan when Jack approached me.

"Are you sure Agriculture is what you want?" Jack teased and I turned to him.

"Yes. Why?" I asked.

"Without hard practice, you did great. Even more than art students" Jack said lovingly and I smiled.

"I did it for the prize" I said and he nodded.

"How about dinner later to celebrate?" Jack asked and my cheeks turn red making me to remember the kiss I placed on his tasty lips on stage.

"Hey" Jack wakes me up and I chuckled nervously.

"Can we go now? I'll drive" Jack said.

"Sure" I nodded.

Cleaning the last eye shadow make up on my face, I took my bag and followed Jack outside the hall.

Was I really going out with this handsome guy that's making my heart throb?

What about Nathan?

"Poor Nathan" I sighed as we walked down the hallway.
