Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

I stylishly scratched my lovely silver hair that looks brighter due to the new hair oil I applied.

While I stood clueless thinking of the question Mr. Anderson had asked, the students started roaring in laughter.

Silly students, why were they laughing?

"I asked you a question Miss. Ganes!" Mr. Anderson reminded me.

"Sir, how about we play a game?" I asked turning to him and back to the students.

"Game?" Mr. Anderson asked with confused facial expression.

"It's simple" I paused.

"You give me that big textbook of yours, I ask you a question and if you get it ... I'm in for any punishment" I explained meticulously with my eyes piercing into his deep annoyed eyes.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" students started chanting before Mr. Anderson would reply, he fumed in anger.

"I'm in!"

"Get ready to fail my course" Mr. Anderson said.

Don't ever make a decision in anger, you will regret it... but maybe he won't.

I took hold of his huge textbook which made me to tremble for its weight, I started flipping the pages while students stare at me anxiously.

"Mr. Anderson, are you ready?" I asked nodding my head like a renowned lecturer.

"Bring it on" Mr. Anderson responded... it made him look silly though.

"What are the steps to take in starting an agricultural business?" I asked boldly and he cleared his throat nervously.

"Well you see..." Mr. Anderson started and everyone fell silent to listen.

"Agriculture is one thing man can't do without, our life is agriculture ..." Mr. Anderson fell silent unable to continue and the lecture hall also went silent that one could hear the sound of a fallen needle.

Just as I was about to speak up, the whole student burst into loud mocking laughter while Mr. Anderson shamefully clean his eyes, like a rabbit I hopped back to my seat leaving him alone to face his shame.

Don't call me wicked... will you?

Mr. Anderson couldn't continue so he angrily left the class thus we started packing up to go home when some ladies and a cute guy approached me.

"Hey babe, you're the shit!" the first lady said and others laughed while I remained confuse.

Was that a compliment or something?

"Mr. Anderson will never battle with this class again" another lady said smiling and my gaze fell at the young cute boy who was staring at me without saying a word.

The ladies continued complimenting and talking happily while my eyes focused on this charming guy.

"How about we exchange contacts? I'll really love to be your friend!" a lady said very happily and others adjourned to her wish thus I gave out my number to them.

"See you around babe!"

"Catch you later" they laughed happily and left the lecture hall then the guy gradually approached me while I wear my back pack that I've zipped up.

"Hi" he said shyly and I smirked.

"Hey" I said.

"I'm Nathan and you?" he stretched his hand out for a handshake which I received.

"Eliora" I said with a smile and we let go of each other's hand.

"Can we hang out later?" Nathan asked nervously with his brown eyes blinking every seconds.

"I'll think about your offer" I said nodding my head.

"Then I can have you contact then... so we could fix a date" Nathan said stuttering in shame.

"Sure" We exchanged contacts and began walking out of the almost empty lecture hall.

"So, where do you stay?" Nathan asked me as we both leave the lecture hall entirely.

I walked into the estate feeling so happy that at least a handsome dude has finally noticed me after so many years, but the loud noise coming from my lodge section disrupted my thought and I ran hastily to find out what was happening.

Jenny and Mr. Desmond?

"Now you listen!"

"You won't tell me where to spread my clothes!" Jennifer hallowed at him angrily with her finger pointing at his face, he also looked angry.

"Oh really".

"This is my father's estate, I have the right to tell you what to do!" for the first time I saw Desmond raised his voice at a woman.

"You should be ashamed of yourself".

"Someone your age already have mansions and a lovely family" Jennifer cursed in annoyance.

"But at least I can take care of your mother's fucking needs for months or two" Desmond snorted.

Seeing that their quarrel was heading to no exact destination, I ran into their midst shouting like a stupid teenager, and they stared at me in confusion.

"What's going on?" I asked exhaling heavily as if I just finished running a marathon race.

"Ask this thing!" they said in unison angrily pointing and staring at each, I cleared my throat mischievously bringing down their hands.

"Mr. Desmond, I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding" I said pulling Jennifer away from his front.

"You're siding with him?"

"For goodness sake I'm innocent here!" Jennifer screamed in provocation while Mr. Desmond sighed annoyingly and went back into his room.

"You didn't even hear our explanation and you concluded in believing him!?" the question sounded rhetorical but Jennifer was angry.

"None of you were ready to explain" I rattled out puckish.

"I'm not in the mood for jokes" also for the first time Jennifer got angry and storm into her room, I was about following her into her room when my stomach growled... loudly.

Stomach first before friendship.

Silly thought huh! I walked into my room.

After taking a short nap in my bedroom, I got up and went to the living room.

"What's new on TNT?" I asked myself as I took hold of the remote and begin checking the channels.

"Operation Red Sea" sounds interesting, I started watching but within me I felt restless.

What's it?

Then it hit me, I dropped the remote on the armchair I sat and rushed out of my room.

The large wall frame had Sia's picture on it, her bedroom was entirely purple. The duvet, the closet, the shoe racks, everything were properly arranged in where it deemed fit and I scented Vanilla flavor the moment I stepped into her bedroom.

The air condition was turned on to a normal cool temperature, the small bluetooth on her reading desk played Helium by Sia in a low volume.

Jennifer sat on her bed with the purple duvet covering her leg, she was sadly staring at something on her phone and I quietly walked closer to her.

"I'm sorry" I said in a pitiful voice and Jennifer slowly lift her gaze and stare at me, tears was hanging around her eyelids.

"Are you okay?" I asked taking consideration of the fact that she was kind to me.

"Of course" Jennifer sniffled and used the back of her hand to clean the tears.

"Talk to me, Jenny" I insisted anxiously as I couldn't bear to see a pretty lady crying.

"It's my boyfriend" Jennifer muttered shyly and I smirked in mockery taking my sit beside her on the bed.

"Boyfriend issues, huh" I teased and she laughed shortly.

"I'm all ears" I winked flirtatiously which made her smiled but it didn't last.

"I went to welcome him earlier today but his behavior towards me was weird" Jennifer started.

"He didn't like that I tease him, he didn't even like his favorite, and all the time I spent with him, we discussed only about business, business, business" Jennifer sighed.

"It sucks! I was expecting some pegs, romantic conversation from him but I got cold shoulder" Jennifer rested her head on her palm sadly while I watched.

"Did you ask him what the problem was? I mean, he must be having a rough time here" I asked abstractly.

"I did... but he said he's okay but tired" Jennifer ranted in annoyance.

"And is that why you transferred the aggression to Desmond?" I asked cryptically and she nodded with her face still on her palm.

"Poor Desmond" I patted her hair softly.

"Give him a little more time, he will be back to how you left him" I assured with bright smile on my face, she raised her head up gradually.

"Thanks babe" Jennifer smiled.

"How about a pool party tomorrow night?" Jennifer asked.

"Something new?" I asked.

"Just to sway my mind of some things" Jennifer hinted me.

"Sure, I'm in" I said with optimism.

"How about fried eggs and bread for tonight?" Jennifer asked lovingly.

"I'll pass" I rejected politely.

"Okay. Let's go to the living room" Jennifer said.

We walk into the living room discussing happily with light laughter, we sat beside each other on the armchair.

"Jenny" I called.

"Emm" She answered anxiously.

"Can you do me a favor?" I asked.

"Anything for you" She assured pouting her cute lips.

"Kindly apologize to Desmond" I said feeling squirmed and Jennifer raised her brow in a mocking way.

"What?" I asked trying to figure out what was on her mind.

"Of course, I'll" Jennifer smiled and I nodded.

She's nice.

The thought of it made me smile brighter.

After watching few series of movie in Jennifer's apartment, I decided to go to my room.

As I entered, I just fell on my armchair.

Where is this weakness coming from?

I think slowly rubbing my forehead gently as I felt headache was welling up inside of me.

I started missing my family all of a sudden, I missed my mum who would always massage my head anytime I felt cranky, my dad would always tell me stories about his past and history of our state, my senior sister would scold me and also spoil me with chocolates... family is where the heart is.

No matter how I struggled not to think of them, no matter how angry I'm for the fact that they have abandoned me alone to suffer... I just couldn't push them away, I miss my family... so much.

Will they ever call me?

Will they attend my graduation?

Who will stand by me?

Head ache hitting me along side sad thinking, I didn't hear my phone ring.

I exhaled and took my phone which was on the center table to charge in my bedroom when I saw missed calls.

"Jason?"

Why was my course representative calling me?

Still on the thought, the phone ring again and I picked it up immediately.

"Hello Jason" I said.

"Have been calling" He said over the phone sounding pissed off but I didn't care.

"Sorry" I couldn't find any excuse.

"The dean wants to see you tomorrow" He said bluntly.

"The dean? Why?" I asked anxiously.

"You will know by tomorrow" He snorted annoyingly.

"But.." I tried to persuade him but the call ended.

Or the idiot intentionally hanged the call on me!

What does the dean want from me?

This thought gave me restless night.
