The wind was blowing with a cold wind that would nearly make anyone shake, but a strong build man stood with a shirt torn as blood dripped down arms from what happened earlier. Yet, coming across the woman had given him a chance to at least enjoy what was left of the day.
He was taken aback as a certain mysterious woman had attacked him, and somehow managed to escape his grasp. She didn't seem too bright, yet she was able to take him down by touching his face with delicate fingers only making him grit his teeth.
Anger surged through his sculpted body as he wished to squeeze the life out of the disrespectful being, but something made him remain in the same spot only standing as he looked ahead. Suddenly, a memory flashed of her emerald eyes staying in his mind making him look up hoping to catch a glimpse only to remember her sneaky escape.
A small smirk formed upon his perfect face as he looked in the direction of where the blonde maiden had disappeared in, but his eyes still held the cold distant look hearing footsteps coming from behind him. He wasn't one who ever let someone see through his wall. He needed to always be on guard even with his most trusted guards.
"Master, do you wish for me to proceed after her?" A weak trembling voice asked from behind only making Desmond laugh darkly. It was not accustomed for anyone to approach him unless he requested their presence. Allowing someone to escape while humiliating the dark man could warrant a death sentence, so if the weak person could capture the human, he would.
Perhaps he was lucky today since the one called 'Master' didn't seem too upset that one of his guards still could stay alive after witnessing the embarrassing display. Suddenly the tall black haired man turned facing his soldier who took a quick step back noticing the malice tracing his defined thick face. The small red headed soldier tried to keep his composure still, but the stern face of the Lord was far too intimidating.
"No. Some other hungry beast can have her. She didn't appear to have any other weapons, so she won't last very long in the woods. Tonight seems to be the time the monsters are leaving their nests. I wonder how long she has left." The black eyed man said still looking into the blackness.
Another dark chuckle escaped Desmond's lips as he remembered the way she tried to claw his eyes out in a way he never expected. Although he was upset with how the small creature was able to barely escape him, it was quite the memory he intended to keep when thinking about a woman. She was perhaps the most interesting girl he had stumbled across even if her life would end soon. And although she seemed interesting today, he knew she would fade from his mind like everyone else.
Rules.
That was what he expected from the village when walking through his forest… but was this little human bold enough to think she could withstand death?
She held some kind of fire in her eyes that he wished to explore unlike other women he simply put aside after he was finished with them, but he also was happy to watch the foolish blonde run to her death since she didn't listen to the law of remaining in her residence during the hour of night. He couldn't decide the torture the little thing needed in order to learn to follow the laws while in his land, but the one now awaiting her seemed fitting.
Her dying a slow agonizing death from another beast seemed like a fair trade since the woman had no manners told her Lord of the land. Yet her green emerald eyes haunted his imagination making him quickly shake his head in frustration.
He couldn't make any exceptions for only one person. He couldn't do that for a human.
"I see…" the guard hummed looking toward the direction Kelsey ran. "She seemed to be dressed very interesting my Lord. I can't quite place her origin. I will have my guards look into it if it pleases you."
Desmond looked away from the solider pondering the words that was spoken as his eyebrows furrowed. It was not his first assessment of the strange woman which made him furious. His eyes had been drawn to her face which was hidden behind some strange material that covered the sparkling eyes engraved in his mind. How could he not be keen on detail tonight?
A frown formed on his features as he searched the ground noticing the black pair of glasses that belonged to the woman. He remembered he kept that and would possibly have a lead on who the girl might be working for or at least where she was from.
Desmond quickly picked them up inspecting them with many questions forming as he was not sure on what the purpose of the strange device held.
The woman was pretty when he assessed her from afar, but even her beauty wasn't going to stop his rage from ripping her apart for disobeying his orders he set for all the people residing in her domain!
He was a man of law and expected exact obedience without any mercy, but after holding the woman by the throat and looking at her face, she made him begin to wonder about who she was and maybe other surprising facts about her. Yet the stubborn stupid woman got caught by him which meant her death was enviable.
Maybe if she had obeyed and spoken with respect, he would have had some kind of subtle punishment, but she seemed to be ignorant of who he was which made him clenched his fist.
"Should I take those for you Master?"
The guards voice brought Desmond back to reality making himself more frustrated on why he was becoming so fascinated with another boring creature in this realm. And along with his annoyance was the fact that the annoying guard wanted to take away his new possession.
"Take leave." Desmond said toward his guard quickly dismissing him by his hand. "I don't need your assistance anymore."
Desmond's eyes looked over his shoulder once more glancing into the darkness of the woods. "Her life is meaningless. So there's no point to ponder anymore of your thoughts regarding the woman. Take what you saw today, and erase it from you mind. If a word is spoken, I will have your head and personally display it for others."
"Yes sir." The guard said as he bowed starting to walk in the direction of the Lords home knowing it was best to leave now before the evil man changed his mind. The guard had a family, and he wasn't about to let tonight take him away from them.
He was not a stupid man and knew he needed to listen to the exact words of his master. Yet, it seemed weird how the Lord was acting. After a few steps he looked back noticing his master standing still leaning against a tree as his eyes roamed the darkness.
