The Kingdome of Azure Gold Dragon, a subsidiary of the Star Dragon Empire, one of the greatest among the few empires of the Mortal Plane was known for its excellent production of Scholars in both quantity and quality. Nobody dared provoke its existence because scholars of this continent were linked with the royal influence. Out of its many scholars, one bearing the rare and hard-earned title of Grand scholar was Haru.
Haru had a common origin before becoming the Grand scholar and even then nothing much changed as he never really desired power because he only lived for two things; His wife and Knowledge. They had made an oath to live simple lives together and not wander too far off in luxury.
Both Haru and his wife, lived contently till their early thirties even though they were yet unable to conceive even after Thirteen years of married life.
One day rumors about an Immortal Alchemist spread whose blessings would allow a mortal couple to conceive with no problem.
Haru ran home and called his wife ,"Honey! Honey! where are you?"
Shuang'er, "what is it?why are you in a hurry?"
Haru, "Get ready, I heard of an Immortal Alchemist staying in the city of Omashu. Rumors have it that with his blessings mortal couple can conceive children."
Both of them were sick of their sorry state and leapt towards this ray of hope, travelling to the far off city of Omashu, where the Alchemist was rumored to have stayed.
Upon reaching they met the Alchemist in the nick of time, both were as hopeful and excited as a toddler waiting for dessert. The Alchemist checked their nerves and bloodline. He informed told them, "You couple are blessed with familial love but cursed to be without descendants."
Shuang'er ,"but who would curse us".
Alchemist,"It was a curse to this scholar's ancestors to end their lineage. But worry not this is a small problem for this master."
Haru couldn't help but be careful of the Alchemist's words. But Alchemist gave them hope like no other. But this too ended in disappointment as Haru saw through the Alchemist's act through his A-rank skill 'Insight'.
The alchemist proved to be a phony who robbed people of their money and gave them false hope. He had the false alchemist arrested and both decided to move back to their home with heavy hearts.
Haru comforted Shuang'er, "It's fine, it's not the first time our hope is broken." Shuang'er, " No it's not about that. Its just that ... I thought ...we finally found a way."
Haru ," don't worry we'll live through this predicament like always."
As they both were returning to their hometown, a terrible storm came in their way. This storm was so intense and ominous that both were terrified and thought they would die today. Haru and his wife both hid under a shielding cloak till the storm passed.
After it the thunder had gone quiet for a while, Haru decided to check out if it has already passed the two of them. He lifted the Cloak and saw a peaceful but blurry view, it was peacefully ominous. Just as he settled his nerves, suddenly a something shot down from the sky and landed not too far from Haru. After that the storm had completely ended.
Haru was curious about the thing that landed and decided to check. His fearful wife pulled the tug of his shirt. Afraid and curious Haru approached the crater and at its center he found a rock which was just a little bigger than the size of his own head.
Haru found it interesting where his wife was still upset because of the alchemist. However, he took it home because as he had never seen anything like it before.
He studied the rock all night but he never understood a thing about it. He fell asleep studying and examining it.
He woke up when a light pricked his eyes, he rubbed his eyes and looked. The rock was cracking slowly.
Haru's eyes widened as he finally started to understand what this rock might actually be.
And slowly as the shell fell off, A small Boy emerged.
