It wasn’t long before people started turning up, Lennox came in with his mate and two sons soon followed by Lyall, her mate and daughters. Then there were people turning up that Annie didn’t know, Hugh explained that they were relatives, his aunts, uncles and cousins, some he evidently hadn’t seen in a long time if the emotional greetings were anything to go by. Annie met so many people she had no idea what anyone’s name was, there was no way she could remember them all. The lounge, as large as it was, was becoming quite crowded by the time Hugh turned Annie round to meet another couple.
“Annie, this is Alastair and Isla Stewart, Aisling’s parents.” Annie felt her breath hitch in her throat.
“Hello, nice to meet you.” she breathed.
