While Asher waited for Les and the guys to arrive, he called Lexi.
"Asher, what's up?
"Someone took her." Lexi was silent for two seconds then he heard her start to type. "Where are you?" He gave her the address and looked around.
"Security camera's on the outside of the building. There's no one around; it's still early here."
"On it." There was a click, and he walked forward and picked his jacket up off the ground automatically as the RVs pulled into the parking lot. The guys piled out and waited for orders.
"I have Lex hacking the security cameras. Eric, find a place to store the RVs. We need to be mobile until we find her, and we need to find her fast; she has a kidney infection, and I have her medication." Asher was calm and focused on the outside but was having a complete meltdown on the inside. It didn't matter who took her, he was going to kill them, but he was very concerned it was Draco. His phone rang, and he answered quickly. "Lex."
"Get to a large screen." Les gestured to the guys, and they piled inside the other RV. Greg connected in so Lexi could control the system. She brought up the surveillance video.
"So there are only a few cars in the parking lot, but the one we're watching is the blue soccer mom van that pulls in and parks at the back directly behind Asher and Mina. Asher gets out of the car, and as he walks in, the van starts creeping forward; when the door closes behind, the van races up; this guy gets out, opens the door, and pulls Mina out. Punches her in the temple, she goes limp, and he pulls the jacket off her, shoves her in the back, and peels out of the parking lot."
"I got a shot of the guy's face." She brought it up. "Looks like it was Derrick."
"Fuck." Asher muttered.
"And the other bad news? This is Megan Talbot's van and…" Another screenshot, and they just got a look at what looked like a blonde head resting on the window. "Looks like he went back and got his niece. I did some digging, and her parents have reported her missing; she was taken the day after you guys went to their house; according to the police report, she was told not to go back to the house but had forgotten her makeup bag and went to get it, she was driving her mom's van."
Everyone looked at each other. "So, how did he find Mina?"
"He's been following you guys since Michigan. I've been pulling up the toll booth camera and there's a blue van within ten cars of you guys the whole way."
"How did none of us notice this?" Asher growled.
"We thought he was ahead of us, and no one would think anything of a bright blue Dodge Caravan. They're a dime a dozen around here." Les said calmly. "Do you have them leaving Lex?"
"Yeah, heading west; I think he's collecting his trades."
"Keep tracking him Lex. Good work." Asher straightened up.
"You got it." Lexi disconnected, and Asher ran his hands through his hair.
"Okay, Joe and Eric, get the RV's somewhere and track us to the next location. Greg, Les, you're with me." he tossed Les the keys and climbed into the passenger seat. Then he paused and called Lexi back. "Track her phone."
"She has her phone? Excellent." She was quiet for a moment. "Heading west on Highway one, just to the west of Robinson."
"Patch that to my phone."
"On it." Asher got a notification, and the app was downloaded. He opened it and stared at the blinking light as it moved. I'm coming for you Princess.
Mina slowly came to with a soft moan. Her temple was throbbing. Hearing soft crying, she opened her eyes and saw the tear-stained face of her niece. "Liz?" She mumbled.
"Aunt Mina." Mina reached for her, and she threw her arms around her, and started sobbing loudly.
"Shut her up!" Mina's stomach dropped as she recognized her husband's voice. And she looked forward and met his angry eyes in the rearview. "Surprise!" He grinned at her. "Sorry to steal you away from your lover dear, but I have special plans for you."
Mina lounged forward but couldn't move past the second set of seats in front of them. She looked down and saw he had cuffed her by the ankle to the seat leg.
"Now dear, honor and obey, remember?"
"Yeah, pretty sure you forfeited that when you strangled three women to death."
She sat back and took Liz in her arms again. "So, you're just gonna hand your wife, niece, and sister over to human traffickers? To save your own skin?"
"Oh, you aren't being turned over. Nieces and sisters, yeah, but you, you sweet pea, have to pay for your transgressions."
"Transgressions?"
"You're sleeping with another man!" He yelled.
"You fucking left me, stole my money, cheated on me with prostitutes, and killed them, not to mention the numerous times you fucking almost killed me! I don't think you deserve my loyalty!"
"I'm killing prostitutes, so I don't kill you!" he yelled back. "I fucking love you Mina, and it was killing me that you were looking at me with hatred and fear! I started killing prostitutes so I would go home to you and not have the urge to strangle the life out of you! You ran away from me!"
"You sold me to a human trafficker!"
"That was a mistake. I panicked! I was about to be killed Mina!"
"Well your mistake cost you me! And if you think for one second I would consider going back to you, knowing you're about to trade your nieces and sisters for your miserable life, you got another thing coming!"
"You think I want you back now? You've been tainted Mina! Another man has penetrated you!"
"You sold me to him!"
"What the hell does that mean?"
"You sold me to Draco. Draco sent him to pick me up and find you; I was what he took as payment!"
"It's true Uncle Derrick! She was drugged when she came to the house and he said she was his payment." Liz cried.
"You weren't drugged up at the waterfall!" Derrick spit out. "and you're not drugged now."
"Because he's a good guy and treats me really well!" Mina shouted. "He fucking treats me like a princess!" A wave of dizziness washed over her, and she dropped her head on Liz's.
"Are you okay Aunt Mina? You're sweating and really warm." Liz pressed her hand on her forehead."
"I have a kidney infection." She mumbled. "It's nothing, don't worry about it."
