Les answered his phone through his Bluetooth headset as he drove. He could hear Asher's deep rumble and Mina's muted responses, and while he couldn't hear what they were saying, he hoped Asher was on his knees begging for forgiveness. Eric, in particular, was very disgusted by his actions. He liked Mina and didn't like that Asher made her cry.
"Hey Lex, how goes the search?"
"It was a fun little challenge, I gotta admit." Her amusement came over the line.
"What did you find out?"
"The FBI are all over Draco, and they're aware he hired Asher."
"Well fuck." Les felt a wave of panic wash over him."
"Yeah…" Lexi dragged out the word, enjoying her ability to make Les squirm. "Don't worry, Les, I've fixed it."
"I didn't doubt you for a second." Les grinned in relief.
"Sure sounded like you did."
"Come on; I have way more faith in your abilities than that. So what did you do?"
"I contacted the lead agent, Special Agent Noel Batten, and explained the situation."
"The situation being?"
"We were hired to find a murderer, technically a serial killer, since he killed three of them. In doing so, we've rescued his wife after discovering he sold her to Draco and are now traveling around rescuing other women. He wants to meet with Asher and Mina, I've told him you guys will be in Isabella tonight and tomorrow, and you'll have to stay an extra night, so I extended your stay at the Wildhurst Lodge and Campground. They're expecting them at 1300 at the Trestle Inn Restaurant and Saloon."
"You're incredible."
"Don't you forget it." Lexi's smile could be heard over the line. "Ciao"
"Ciao Bella." Les hung up the phone with a grin. His and Lexi's relationship was not conventional by any means, but it worked for them.
Asher sighed as he gently pulled back from her. "Mina, I swear, I'll make this up to you." he cupped her face and wiped her tears away with his thumbs. "I'm pretty sure the guys will band together to beat me if I don't pull my head from my ass when it comes to you, and before you say it, I want to, not for me, but for you and those pretty green eyes." He leaned in and paused, his eyes searching hers for permission. She gave the tiniest nod, and his lips met hers delicately.
"Oh Princess." he murmured against her lips. "What have you done to me?"
"You asked that before. But, unfortunately, I don't have an answer." she whispered, fear that he was going to run again gripping her.
"I don't expect one." he kissed her again. "Decided to just go with it." Asher ran his nose along her jaw. "You smell like blueberry and custard tarts. Have I told you how much I love blueberry and custard tarts?"
"No." Mina breathed, her heart fluttering.
"My favorite treat. My Grandmother used to make them, probably the only happy memory from my childhood." he kissed where her jaw met her neck.
"Asher, Les is…" She inhaled sharply as he tugged her down, so she was lying on her back.
"Is busy driving." Asher climbed over her, parting her legs with his knee and nestling on her. He pushed his hips down, grinding on her. "Fuck." he groaned and dropped his forehead against hers. "I want to bury myself inside you and feel you squeeze me as you cum, over and over until you can't move anymore, and then demand another one from you."
Mina squirmed under him. "Asher…"
"Don't worry Princess. I won't make you scream with Les so close. Those are for me and me only." He smiled at her and rolled over, pulling her with him so they were lying facing each other. "We're going to be stopping soon. Are you okay to drive?"
"Give me a few minutes to collect myself." Mina rested her head on his chest. "Tease." She muttered, making him chuckle.
"If I thought you could be quiet, I'd do it." He kissed the top of her head and rubbed her back gently as he chuckled. "I'll give you your few minutes."
When he was gone and shut the door, Mina rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling. He made her forget her hurt and anger with a few words and promises. She tried to bring them back, but they wouldn't come. She would give him the benefit of the doubt, knowing how scared he was of her leaving; she didn't think he would make that mistake again. Other mistakes, no doubt, but as long as he could learn and grow from them, she could live with them. She was sure she'd make them as well.
Les looked up as Asher approached. "Have you fixed things?"
"I've started to, I have a ways to go before she forgives me completely, but I've never been afraid of working for things."
"At least you know it won't be an easy fix."
"She's worth it." Asher smiled.
"I spoke with Lex. She hacked the FBI; they're all over Draco and know he's hired you. She reached out to the lead agent, Agent Batten; he'll be waiting for us in Isabella and wants to meet you and Mina."
"She set everything up?"
"Yep, staying an extra night at the RV Park and a meeting tomorrow at 1300."
"She is indispensable." Asher grinned. "Fuck, I'm glad I found her."
"Fuck yeah, she is." Les grinned as the door to the bedroom opened, and Mina came out. "Ready for your turn to drive?" he smiled at her in the rearview.
"Yeah. Also, kinda hungry and in need of my meds."
"Alright Princess, grab yourself some breakfast, and I'll get your meds for you." Asher grabbed the keys to the glove compartment while Mina got herself a bowl of cereal. He pulled out her pills and set the bottles on the table next to her. "You can take care of these yourself now."
Mina grinned as she got her dosage and pushed them back toward Asher. "Having you dispense them to me has made sure I take them every day at the same time; I forget them a lot."
"Then I'll hold on to them."
