Katie Jones and her three friends have just performed in auditions at OPA- Oakland performing Arts middle school. All four girls have high hopes. Katie hopes to get a leading role in a play .Allison Hoods hopes be placed in First line of dancers. Lydia Charles hopes to play the piano flawlessly. Julie Stone,with her broken legs,just hopes for the best when she stands to play the violin.
In addition to their seperate talents,the girls perform together in a group called "THE FOURS" . The Fours perform in order to give something to the community,today tho the community will give something to them.

On Wednesday the results of the auditions were posted various places in the school. Crowds of students gathered around. Groans and whoops of joy were heard up and down the corridors of OPA -Oakland Performing Arts Middle School
Katie hung back. At last she got the courage to read the list by the theater door. The part of the elderly Eunice had gone to Dorothy .
Katie bit her bottom lip; Sylvia Browne was listed after the "Elderly Eunice as a young woman" and Jacob has been selected as Eunice second husband. Katie searched for any mention of her name. There it was.The part of Eunice's sister,Mary Ann went Katie Jones
"Hey how did you do"? Jacob stood behind her, unable to respond, Katie fled down the hall,what could she tell dad,mom,Annie and Grandma?
She was a failure!!!!
