Chapter 11 - Something to Live For?

Silimoore was frightened as he looked down to see a small puddle of blood. He rubbed his teary eyes and looked at his hands which were now also stained with red.

Seeing his frightened expression, Durion explained to him. [Silimoore don't worry, you're not actually bleeding, it's just your tears!]

"Then why is it red?!" Silimoore exclaimed with worry.

[It's because you're Immortal, of course red tears are a bit unusual, but as someone with silver blood, I can tell you that you aren't the strangest. In fact, if you rub your hands a bit it'll go away.]

Following Durion's instructions Silimoore rubbed his two red stained hands together, and it was not long until the red disappeared.

"What, how?" The still teary eyes Silimoore said.

[There's a lot of things that may seem unusual, but you'll get used to it.] Durion sighed. [Anyways, even if you just cried, I'm still now letting you off, clean up a bit and finish the rest tomorrow.]

Silimoore only nodded his head, a bit ashamed of his outburst. 'I wish I wasn't like this.' He thought as he picked up the apartment.

The morning came, and Silimoore was awakened by Durion's voice. [Wake up sweetie, you've already slept enough, we have important things to do today.]

Silimoore groaned in annoyance, he still felt tired. But Durion wouldn't give up and he continued to pester Silimoore until he finally had enough and got up. "Fine ok, I'm up!" He grumbled.

[Alright, open the windows and get ready. You picked up quite a lot yesterday so I don't think it's necessary to do so today.]

"Alright~" Silimoore yawned. He took a shower, and put on some clothes. He was about to grab some cereal for breakfast when Durion told him that he didn't need to eat, and that he should hurry up a leave.

[We're wasting precious time that could be used for training! Go go, let's leave now. You want to eat? Immortals don't need food, let's go.]

"But I'm hungry, if I don't eat I can't do anything." Silimoore whined. "Maybe Immortals don't need food, but I used to be human."

Durion thought about for a moment and could only reluctantly agree with his statement. [I see, I guess human habits are hard to break. Just hurry, the earlier we start the better.]

Silimoore smiled and prepared his cereal happily, but while he was eating he realized something. "But why would I need to hurry up? I literally have as much time as I could want. And as an Immortal yourself, shouldn't a couple minutes pass by in a flash?"

Durion was starting to feel a bit embarrassed at his impatient behavior. [Well, erm.. It's been a long time since I've seen one of my own kind.. I was hoping that you'd get strong enough so that we could meet face-to-face…]

Silimoore was a bit surprised at the response, but smiled at Durion's innocent behavior. "I'm and Immortal too ya know, as someone who keeps reminding me of that, shouldn't you know best? I'm sure we'll meet soon!"

He felt a warmth in his heart, he never knew that having such simple exchanges could be so nice. Silimoore felt like a had found something to live for. But no matter what he thought, the emptiness inside continued to gnaw at him, whispering sweet words of death into his ear.
