Chapter 11 - Mundane Lives: The Grand Scheme of Things

ZZZWOON...

[Pristine Chapels-MYRIAD]

Space warped and distorted on the huge platform. A humanoid black wolf appeared, dazed and disoriented. There were thousands of souls around him. All in different shapes and forms. Some in the form of relics, beasts, humanoids, while most in the from of wraiths.

The Chapel was towering, with blue tinted windows. The platform was fenced and gated like a dome. Several [Incarnations] hovered around the platform, dressed in dark hoods or pitch black suits, with grey vests. Some of the [Incarnations] carried sickles, while some carried Scythes, the rest were bare handed.

The hooded figures handled the wraiths, guiding them through corridors leading to a sanctuary. Entities in pitch black suit handled the [Manifestations] leading them through aisles outside the chapel.

The wolf gazed around, a bit overwhelmed. Observing everyone and everything around him.

"This realm is comforting yet ominous", thought the wolf. He was Gazeera, who had just ascended to the realm of [MYRIAD]. "Three lives huh,.. I have incarnated thrice."

As he was looking around, another [Manifestation] caught his attention. He was a White Lion, with striking white mane, and black stripes, adorning a monk's garb. The lion had shining gold eyes, gleaming brightly.

Suddenly the space around them warped again, bringing forth a Demon, and a Priest. The Demon was towering with huge horns jutting out from the sides of his head, he had a pitch black body, marble white face and blood red eyes. His huge and powerful wings resting on his back. Beside him stood a middle aged man, with a neatly trimmed beard and long flowing hair which was tied back.

"Hahahaha!!! this place is magnificent and pristine", the Demon laughed.

Everyone looked at the Demon, some were scornful, while the others were anxious. Gazeera was intrigued.

"Even Demons end up here, huh.", he thought.

The Demon then cast an ominous gaze on both Gazeera and the Lion.

As if responding to the Demon, Gazeera's pitch black eyes turned a shade of blue, while the Lion's eyes gleamed white.

{[Frames]:

Multitudes of memories and realities colluded together as the three embarked on a conquest, to end [Ragnarok] once and for all. Their battle raged throughout Yggdrasil, facing every adversary in their path.}

The three continued staring each other till the middle aged man beside the demon escorted it through the corridors, along with some [Incarnations].

The Entities in black suit started segregating the remaining [Manifestations], guiding them outside the chapel through different aisles. Each aisle had an emblem associated to it representing different factions, pantheons, etc.

After the segregation, only Gazeera remained on the platform. The lion went through the aisle with the emblem of a cloudy hourglass.

Tap.. Tap.. Tap..

A man approached Gazeera, he was extremely tall and lean. His footsteps sharp and clear. He had an extremely pale skin. Ruffled greyish-silver hair, narrow slitted yet bulging eyes. His bony hand held a huge Scythe. He wore an ashen-grey suit, with a black lapel, a navy blue bow tie. He had a red belt tucked onto his pants.

"I am Thanatos, Herald of [Erebos], the God of Death.", Thanatos introduced himself, in a cold and raspy tone. "I am here at the behest of Lord Hades, Sovereign of [Erebos], The Deity of Afterlife."

"Lord Hades has requested your presence in [Paradis].", continued Thanatos. "You are to follow me. Lord Sovereign wishes to get some answers from you."

Thanatos then turned, gesturing Gazeera to follow him. He led Gazeera through an aisle, with the emblem of a warping eye within a mist. It led to a corridor outside the chapel.

The realm was immense and vast, with towering buildings, constructs, pocket dimensions. Far at the center of the realm there was an orb, where the entirety of the realm colluded. Several []Incarnations], zooming around from one construct to another, across several pocket dimensions, gathering resources, managing souls and monitoring timelines.

"Welcome to the Dawn of Creation [Paradis].", proclaimed Thanatos. "The orb that you see is the [Nexus], or as we call it the [Record]."

"And that's [Eden].", Thanatos pointed at an isolated realm, resembling an island. "That is where newborn sentients are formed. Our first home."

Gazeera saw the gleaming island. Several vortex of light surrounded it. Glimmering like stars.

"If you ever fly around it. You would be able to listen to their laughter and joy.", continued Thanatos, with an empty look in his eyes. "It will make you feel a bit nostalgic."

There was a door at the end of the corridor. Thanatos flung it open and led Gazeera up the stairs to a cabin.

There was a nameplate on the cabin-door that read [Hades-Ministry of Paranormal Affairs], below that [Paradis].

"Aha! there he is, our celebrity.", said the man with a deep and gruff tone, seated on an armchair. His face resembled a mannequin, it was grey and cloudy. He wore a Bowler hat, an overcoat, he wore braces for trousers and had a butcher's apron. He had a well built and well toned physique. This man is the [Sovereign of Erebos], Hades.

The cabin itself was nothing too fancy, there where several cabinets made out Cypress. A big shelf containing many books, cassettes, cd's, some drives, etc. A desk near the window. And a seat right beside it.

"Don't be so stiff, make yourself comfortable.", continued Hades, gesturing Gazeera to take a seat.

Facing Thanatos, he commanded, "Leave us for a moment."

Thanatos disappeared, dispersing to thin air in shades of black.

"I assume Thanatos has briefed you on why you are here.", said Hades.

"Yes.", replied Gazeera.

"Good, don't be nervous. This is but a trivial formality.", chimed Hades, leaning forward rubbing his palms together. "I am just trying to clear out some coincidences. So, we can start by you telling me what name is shown to you?"

Several letters warped around Gazeera, forming a word.

"[Walpurjis]", Gazeera declared.

"Huu..., another one of those cases, huh.", sighed Hades. "You know this is the first time this is happening, you are not the only one who was bestowed with the name of [Walpurjis]."

"What do you mean?", asked Gazeera.

"It means that there are more like you, [Incarnations] who perceive [MYRIAD], in the same manner that you do, or at least have a worldview that is similar to yours.", replied Hades.

"What does that have to do with me?", asked Gazeera.

"Nothing much, actually", Hades continued. "It's just a bit of a novel and weird occurrence. You have nothing to worry about. By the way, it doesn't seem that you ascended normally, it seems like you were recommended to us. Mind telling us about the Deity that recommended you."

"You mean the shadow that warped me here.", questioned Gazeera.

"Shadow...?", mused Hades.

"Yes a dark shadow, shrouded in bright gold flames and emanating in dark green light. He briefed me up on somethings about [MYRIAD]. And went on about [Ragnarok] and the glory in stopping it.", continued Gazeera.

"Hmmm... a shadow, no one really comes to my mind. Do we have a deity like that?..", thought Hades. "So your briefing was only about [Ragnarok], did he mention which faction should you be joining, or have you already decided one?"

"Not that I know of, he said I should take the first offer I get.*, replied Gazeera.

"Is he rogue deity?.. a forager probably. Considering the fact he doesn't mind his recommendation getting taken by a different faction.", pondered Hades.

He continued ,"Since you don't have any factions in mind, would you consider joining us?"

"Well if it is a formal offer, I will join you.", replied Gazeera.

"He won't be a bad recruit, considering he managed to repel the invasion of Monster Queen Echidna, back in his realm.", thought Hades. "What bothers me is his patron, as well as his worldview? Well I will deal with it when the time is right, for now I'll just keep a close eye on him."

"Well then we have scouted you.", said Hades, with his face warping into a smile.

"Charon!", Hades commanded.

Wisps of mist assimilated, forming the shape of a man, who was neither too young nor too old, seemingly ageless. He wore a sooty-grey cloak, and had pale blue hair. He had misty-grey eyes. He held an oar in his hand. He stood before Hades, bowing.

"Take our new recruit to his quarters and familiarize him with the realm.", continued Hades. "Take him to the armory and then guide him with his duty.

"As you command, Lord Sovereign.", replied Charon.

"Follow Charon, young wolf. He will guide you well.", said Hades, gesturing Gazeera to follow Charon."

Gazeera left along side Charon.

Thanatos warped into the cabin assimilating shades of black.

"His recommendation is too suspicious, my lord.", he said.

"A Deity who even I don't know about.", mused Hades. "Investigate his recommendation, someone might be deliberately targeting our Supreme Faction [MYRIAD]. Either that or he is planning to unite all the realms by producing these many [Manifestations] of the same name-|,

"[Walpurjis]", he declared.
