Chapter 2 - Mundane Lives: Gazeera

Whoosh.... Shaaa.... Whoosh....

[Bay of Marcelan]

Winds were blowing, waves were crashing.

The Moon shone brightly, giving off an Ethereal vibe.

A man stood by the shore, gazing across the vast Horizon.

He was resting on the bonnet of a Mustang.

He was young, had a pale fair skin, chiseled face, optimally built physique. He was dressed in a three piece suit, a grey vest, a black bow tie with an emerald jutting out of it and a peach white suit.

Another man arrived gliding on an Ethereal construct. It was Jake Spencer.

"So you came early, Gazeera?", said Jake.

"Seems so, just had to confirm a few things here and there. Its not everyday that we have to take out a [Rain Level 6] summon." answered Gazeera. Still staring out into the open horizon. His eyes were jet black, with a bright white iris.

"Well then, it seems the clean up crew are yet to arrive."

"No they are already here, I have just stationed them to a more secure location."

"O-Okay, then", replied Jake. "I guess I'll just fill you in on the report. Target is Ezekail Theo Lingsay, age 58, Para user unregistered, Criminal record, Assault and Smuggling. He is not priority though. We have to just confirm whether he is alive or not, and apprehend him if he is. Priority is to capture, seal or destroy the-"

"[Rain Level 6] disaster." Gazeera murmured.

"Yes", Jake confirmed.

"Ezekail, that old buffoon. A summon, that too [Rain Level 6]. What were you so obsessed about old man. As if helping you disappear from the system was not enough, you just had to go and do this. That favor was also because you helped B.A.R. make body doubles. Damn....", thought Gazeera.

"By the way, Jake did you bring your body double?"

"Yeah, why?", Jake said while, pointing at a coffin which was being buried by a summon[GraveKeeper].

"I am just getting an ominous feeling. It is just that despite having [Level 6] influence, this spirit has not yet displaced itself from it's point of origin nor has it expanded it's domain."

Jake formed a ball of light and dispersed it across the shoreline. No reaction.

"Now that you have pointed it out Gazeera, it indeed is a bit weird that-"

"Well off we go now.", chimed Gazeera. Grabbing a golden backpack and a silver fanny pack.

"Where do we have to go?", asked Jake.

"Dock no. 3."

"Are you sure?"

"Well yes, for two reasons, one being that the Scouts set up their beacon at that dock before proceeding to the lighthouse which is our mission venue, second being that a person has filed for a missing boat case, for the boat which was docked here yesterday.", replied Gazeera, while pointing at the [Dock No. 3] sign.

Gazeera started scampering around the Dock as if he was searching for something. He rummaged through files and folders, crates and containers. Until, he finally returned with a silver block in his hand.

"With this we might be able to trace their movements, and get to our target. Provided it's still there and wasn't a temporary summon or that the scouts didn't die before reaching the summon."

"Don't worry.", assured Jake. "The scouts reached our target alright."

"Well off we go then.", said Gazeera. Forming an Ethereal Construct, hovering and then shooting across the bay.

"Let's do this and return alive.", sighed Jake, while forming an Ethereal Construct and shooting after Gazeera.

[Hell Bound Isle: Marcelan Bay]

Whooo....

Tap.

Jake and Gazeera landed on the island. There was an abandoned light house in front of them. The walls around the Light house were infested with grime, rot and Fungi.

"Well someone's made themselves home.", chuckled Gazeera as he walked towards the rusted metal gates.

"Rot and grime, seems to be the effect of plague. Granite floors left untouched. Rusted doors. Traps encountered so far, none.", noted Jake.

"What are you doing?", asked Gazeera.

"Writing a report."

"Can't you note it down a bit quietly, like keep it to yourself."

"All I am saying is that this spirit is way too comfortable, it has already realized that it's the apex predator. It might even be observing us right now.", defended Jake.

"Your stating the obvious."

"Damn... Yeesh.", exclaimed Gazeera. "This spirit has tangible intellect beyond instincts. You might want to add that to your report."

"What the...", startled Jake. "A spirit will directly devour it's victims, both will and body. But... But this monstrosity just strung them up for a display."

A gruesome scene where corpses were strewn over the gate spelling 'Welcome'.

Tap... Tap... Tap...

[Ezekail's Bunker]

"Ah, it took you forever to come, my dear guests. I even put up a welcome sign for you. Not that I was expecting you to come.", sneered Echidna, who was sitting on a makeshift throne.

"What brings you here spirit?", asked Jake.

"Shouldn't I be the one asking that?", laughed Echidna.

"Stand down Jake, and stop asking such obvious questions we already know that she was summoned here. I believe that we should formally introduce ourselves spirit, I am Nasim Shabir Gazeera.", Gazeera introduced himself.

(Xyrak(Narrator): Sheesh now I am stating the obvious.)

"Well I am not one for introductions.", Echidna mused." But fine, you can call me Echidna Mother of all Monsters."

"Well then, Echidna Mother of all Monsters, where is your summoner Ezekail Theo Lingsay?"

"Oh, him, he has been long killed by me."

"And what do you intend to do now."

"Why devour you of course?"

Jake shuddered, while Gazeera remained calm.

"Just like how you devoured the others."

"Yes of course.", Echidna replied grinning. "Don't worry I will leave your bodies intact, while I tear your existence apart."

"Uhhhh... Alrighty then what do you intend to do with this world?", enquired Gazeera.

"Stop asking such obvious questions Nasim, this world will be infested by me.", chimed Echidna.

"Huuu... So do you realize that you are declaring that this situation is not salvageable."

"Yes, your current misfortune is not something you can weasel your way out through diplomacy.", sneered Echidna.

"Well that leaves us with no choice, doesn't it. Jake". Gazeera prepared for battle, while Jake summoned all his relics.

Echidna lunged from the throne, with sheer ferocity, across the room going straight at Jake.

Her warped eyes gleefully gleaming open wide. Claws outstretched.

[Dragon's Breath]

Gazeera blew out big wisps of air.

[Ignite]

Boom!!!

Echidna passed through the flames unphased, Jake quickly followed, spinning and gathering momentum, striking her with a curved Scimitar, covered with a charm of amber.

That attack didn't do much, other than bashing her to the wall.

Echidna got back up. Rushed at them again.

[Crib of a Spider]

White threads of energy flew out of Gazeera's arms, wrapping itself around the Mother of all Monsters, while Jake followed up holding a hammer in his hand etched with the archaic symbol of Discipline. He swung that hammer down and smashed Echidna's head.

Zzzttss... white sparks flew everywhere. The Archaic symbol brightened as if resonating with [Crib of a Spider] reinforcing it.

The monster struggled for a bit, and suddenly went limp.

"Is it over?", asked Jake.

"NOT YET!!!", yelled Gazeera. His bright white iris warped into the shape of a clock, his eyes went navy blue and started shining brightly.

[[Frame] :

Echidna transformed herself into black sludge, escaped the [Crib of a Spider], re-formed behind Jake impaling him.

Jake died.

Gazeera peeked into the future]

Gazeera acted quickly, he let go of the energy threads. Took out a red orb from his fanny pack, and smashed it onto Jake's head. An emblem hovered above his head [Mark of Ignis].

Echidna transformed herself into black sludge, escaped the [Crib of a Spider], re-formed behind Jake impaling him.

While she did that Gazeera snapped his fingers and Jake exploded.

"AAAARGH!!!", Jake yelled.

Boom!!!

[Chains of Humanity] translucent, white chains appeared.

Gazeera whirled his arms around, orienting and directing the chains which started wrapping itself around Echidna's core and binding it.

[Arachnid's Hold] Ethereal threads of chaos, flew from Gazeera's hands spreading across the [Chains of Humanity], grasping firmly onto the core of The Mother of All Monsters.

Gazeera Held onto [Arachnid's Hold], and started tugging and pulling Echidna's core. Restraining her movements completely.

"GRRRAAHHH!!!", roared Echidna. Her deafening roar echoed throughout the shore.
