Chapter 82 - Class Battle 3

To be frank, I must achieve certain results.

Not only must the D-Class be the winner, but I myself must also visibly achieve results. Recently, Moridori-san has been looking too haggard.

She's even started buying cardboard boxes and packing up his things.

Although I thought it was too early to worry, I couldn't say a word.

"Moridori-san... you're already a part of my family in this world. Why does our meal always feel like a funeral?!"

I must prevent Moridori-san from disappearing.

Of course, I must also prevent myself from being expelled.

And I must bring back Moridori-san's smile.

"The time has come."

I finish using the restroom.

I mentally check the weapons I have stored.

There are approximately 1000 weapons.

I'm not being complacent, but there probably aren't any enemies in the second year.

"Actually, we're too weak." That's right. We're too weak.

The only ones who are a threat in Mahoro Academy are probably the Student Council. My ideal is to have a PK battle with the top-class leader as the D-Class leader.

I want to be tied with the top-class by the end of the match.

"A one-on-one battle between leaders."

If I win spectacularly here, I can maintain my personal record.

"I'll probably score over 700 on the written test, win the class battle, and win the one-on-one battle between leaders."

No matter how you look at it, it feels like I'm going beyond the realm of extras, but there's no other way this time.

"Oh well, it can't be helped."

If it comes to a one-on-one battle, I'll show off my acrobatics by switching weapons.

High-speed switching of weapons like swords, spears, axes, and hammers.

"Like sword techniques, there is a risk of exposing the difference in skill if I end things too quickly. Some level of performance is necessary."

"This time, I need to play the role of an entertainer."

"I must captivate the audience."

"With this, I should be able to maintain my position at the top."

"After stretching once, my spine crackles."

"Well, it's about time I make contact."

The inside of the cave is a giant space with a ceiling over 10 meters high. I confirm that there is no one lurking in the darkness.

"It seems like there's no one here."

It took some time to find a spot with good reception. I made the call from where my phone finally showed one antenna bar.

After a brief ringing tone, it seems like Kakko picked up the phone.

"Kakko, where are you now?"

"Yes. I'm currently confirming whether the 30 spies of DROTS' covert operations have succeeded and monitoring the spies. There is a possibility that there are also traitors."

"Traitors, huh? Well, it's not strange to have them. DROTS is an impromptu team. I can't trust them too much. There are too many people whose backgrounds are unknown...So, did you mix the tablets?"

"No, we mixed the powdered laxative into the water supply point."

"Oh, this hasn't been added yet. Let's put it in just in case. It's a powerful one that can even solve constipation that hasn't happened in a week. It was quite troublesome to obtain it by lying to a doctor."

Kakko muttered while making a sound of dropping something and sand trickling down.

"Excuse me. Let's continue the conversation."

"So you added the fast-acting one, huh? It starts working quickly, so it also heals quickly."

"If you go once, the urge to go will disappear. It has already been tested on my body as a human experiment."

"Okay. So timing is crucial. It's difficult to control the timing of resupply, so luck becomes a factor here."

"That's a crappy tactic that just popped into your head. The plan is full of holes."

"Just preventing hydration is enough. Oh, and what about the amount of money in the casino?"

"Tell me how much money is in the casino. I need money. Weapon barrages cost too much. It's like fighting by throwing bundles of cash."

"Is that so? As I just confirmed, the detailed amount of money collected has been tallied. There are about 4.27 billion yen in bets."

"Wow. Thank you. I just wanted to know how much money was involved. Well, let's put that aside since we're going to win anyway. Lastly, I can't read the current situation of the battle at all. I don't care as long as you can tell me within your range. I need information."

"Please wait a moment..." After about three minutes of silence, "(There are some parts that we can't grasp, but according to Hisui's information, this is the current situation on the front line)."

Kakko told me what he knew about the current situation on the front line.

It seems that the ABC class is forming a coalition as the game intended. There are no dropouts in Class A currently.

Yonhishi is building a base like me and accumulating power there. It seems like he intends to use all his power to stand out during the endgame when students from other classes are exhausted. Steven, the general of Class B, is also there.

The female general of Class C, Mei Mayo, leads over 70% of Class C students to the front lines. She seems to be working hard to annihilate Class E.

Class E has many elf and beastman students who are persecuted. This is where the front line is the most likely to collapse. The generals and vice-generals are still alive, but nearly half of the students have left the front lines.

"What about Class F?"

"General Sakura is currently in combat with Lady Ayaka."

"Ohh!."

"According to this message, Ayaka is currently engaged in a battle against three opponents: Sakura, Tenma, and Systerissa Terissa."

"Really?"

"Yes, really."

"I see...so what's happening?"

"It's likely that they're still in the middle of the battle."

"I see...I'm actually quite excited to see how it turns out. Chiaki is ridiculously strong. When the main characters and heroines are fighting against each other, I can't help but wonder what's going on from the perspective of a spectator."

"I'm going to head there soon too. I need to adjust the scores for one-on-one battles. It's currently 4 PM. Kakko and I will switch places using our weak Shape Shifter disguise technique. The location of this base is..."

"I've taught Kakko how to use the disguise technique. They will act as my double. I've also given them the location of the base."

"This class battle will continue for a long time, until around 9 PM. My body is starting to feel sluggish, so I'm sorry, but I'm going to take matters into my own hands."

"Understood. When the time comes..."

"Please take care of it."

I pressed the end call button.

"Shall we begin the hunt?" I smirked.

"Hmm? I've gained more points again."

Another 10 points or so had been added to my score.

D-class was climbing up the rankings at an alarming speed.

"I wonder if I'm even needed anymore," I thought, feeling a sense of unease in a different way.

.

.

.

/third-person perspective/

The battlefield was in chaos. The information from Amachi and Kakko was already outdated. Ayaka and Kazane, along with reinforcements from the students of the ABC Union that Ayaka had buried, were engaged in a three-way battle.

"What is this woman!?" exclaimed a B-class student, only to be instantly frozen.

The male student turned into an ice sculpture and shattered into pieces with the sound of glass breaking, struck by Ayaka's iron fist.

"You're too weak!"

Gunshots rang out. Bullets landed meters away from Ayaka and gouged into the ground. Multiple gunshots were fired, but the sniper's shots couldn't hit Ayaka, who had an inherent unique skill of "avoiding projectile/magic attacks."

Her unique skill, "Avvoid," meant that sniping was pointless. In long-range attacks, not even a scratch could be inflicted upon her.

"It doesn't work, huh," Ayaka stared in the direction of the gunshots and pulled the sniper towards her with magic that manipulated gravity.

"Eek!" The female student who was sniping screamed, but Ayaka crushed her forehead with her grip and a bright red flower bloomed.

---Spark---

When Ayaka's gauntlet and sword clashed, sparks flew.

"Looks like you're pretty good."

"Thanks. You're quite strong yourself," Kazane responded.

She transformed her Holy Sword into a sword that she was more skilled with and unleashed a sword flash towards Ayaka, but her attack was easily blocked.

(Who is this person? What school is she from? She's too strong. She wasn't among the students with announced positions.)

Meanwhile, Minami and Systerissa Teresa engaged in a battle against students from the ABC Union.

Despite receiving a strengthening buff from Systerissa, Kazane was unable to land a decisive blow on the girl in front of him, even when fighting alone.

"Repel!"

"What!"

Kazane was blown away and hit a tree behind him.

Ayaka activated her advanced magic to manipulate repulsive force, pulled Kazane away, and conjured up numerous hailstones made of ice.

"I'll turn all of you into a beehive. Rain of bullets, hailstorm!"

A rain of hailstones that looked like bullets was fired in all directions from Ayaka's location.

"Minami! Systerissa! Take cover! Systerissa, use your full power to defend!" Kazane commanded.

"Understood!"

Systerissa chanted a spell and deployed a defensive barrier around Kazane, Minami, and herself.

The hailstone bullets that landed were enough to destroy everything in their surroundings.

The sound of wind cutting through the air, like a machine gun being fired, destroyed everything in its path, including the ground and people.

After a while of fierce assault, Kazane was bleeding from her forehead and wincing in pain.

Systerissa and Minami were still alive, but they were gasping for breath and had to support themselves with their hands on the ground after being blown away by the impact of the ice.

All the students from the ABC Union who were involved in the melee had been wiped out, leaving only their remains behind.

"Are we really going to do this against everyone? Amazing...the release of the holy sword."

It was a straightforward compliment.

He was also scared by the overwhelming power to the point of trembling.

(Although I didn't want to use my full strength here...if we are defeated, there will be nothing left. This is undoubtedly our moment of truth.)

"Everyone, get up. Let's defeat this girl together."

"Sigh...that's crazy talk. But I was thinking we can't hold back either."

"Yes, I agree. I wanted to conserve my magic, but..."

"She's still alive. She's weak, but persistent. Perhaps thanks to that toy..."

Ayaka glanced at the holy sword with disinterest and positioned both hands in front of her chest in a fighting pose.

Then the atmosphere became even colder and more ruthless.

"Icefall Style...Activate."

The temperature around them suddenly changed, and their breath turned white.

"You weren't serious yet, were you..."

-Despair-

Kazane felt as though he was being shown an unfathomable gap in power.

"Let's go! Purgation!"

As the holy sword was called out by its true name, it responded by emitting a golden light and converging it.

Kazane, Minami, and Systerissa Teresa surrounded Ayaka.

The attacks of the four of them turned the surrounding area into a wasteland.

.

.

.

In the middle of the afternoon snack time,

"Hey, my points have increased again. What's going on? Is this a bug?"

The points had increased by about 30.

They were erasing the early negative score at an unbelievable speed.

After that, several people in D class dropped out, and they kept adding and subtracting points.

Even so, D class had jumped up to the top all at once.

A class was next in line.

"What's Chiaki doing?"

I'm really curious.

And if things continue like this, we might end up in a tie and have to go into a penalty kick.

"Is something wrong, Ayaka-san?"

"No, I was just wondering how you were doing."

"I see. Well, I should be going now. Amachi-san, please wait here for good news. You don't need to trouble yourself. Goodbye."

Maria had finished preparing for battle.

"Oh, okay. Goodbye...wait a minute!"

It was almost time for Kakko to take over. Should I tell Maria?

"Excuse me, Maria-san."

Maria turned around.

"What is it?"

"I'm going to be out there too. I have something I need to take care of. I have a teammate who's sort of like a double for me, and they'll be coming in to replace me. So if we happen to meet on the battlefield, let's pretend we didn't see each other."

Maria brought her index finger close to her mouth.

"I understand everything. Got it. That's what it is."

Did she understand everything I just said with those words?

Her thinking is too fast.

"Well, that's what I meant to say."

"Understood. Then, see you later."

"Ah, yes."

The phrase "Ah, yes" was triggered.

It's a phrase that is activated by those who have significantly low communication skills.

"Well then, everyone. I'm heading out." Maria said goodbye to everyone at the base and left.

"I should head out too..."

It's almost time to switch.

A children's song played in my head.

Which one should I choose?

Who should I start eliminating first?

As the god of heaven commands.

"All right! Let's adjust the scores and start eliminating players one by one."

I set my target.

Soon yonhishi would get impatient and try to go for a high score.

"We'll save yonhishi, Stephen, and Mei Mayo for the final dinner show."

I am an entertainer.

Timing is everything in show business.

I smirked.

I couldn't stop grinning at the thought of seeing their faces when they were eliminated.
