/From Moridoru's point of view/
I am a scout belonging to the scout department of the Mahoro Academy headquarters.
I am a social worker, a single elf with no boyfriend history equal to my age, a small fry elf with a ridiculous name like "shinrin Moridoru."
I am grateful to my parents, but this name is too much. I think about it every day.
Today, I also submitted a post to a radio life consultation program, of course, to vent my daily stress.
"I'm not joking. Seriously," I said.
Recently, there was a notice regarding our scout department, which caused dissatisfaction.

I was drinking alone at the counter of an izakaya.
On the TV, a celebrity was talking candidly about her past boyfriends. Boyfriend? What's that? Someone, please get married.
"Ugh," I groaned.
I was getting drunk, my head was confused, and my emotions were getting out of control.
It's laughable.
Every day, we have to work overtime. There is no reward for our efforts.
I am just a window-sitting employee, with only seniority and no achievements.
I am now shinrin Window Moridoru.
Recently, I found out from my junior colleagues what they call me behind my back! They call me a salary thief! And they laugh when they say "Moridoo is here!"
I have been scouting.
"I've been doing it, so why am I failing?" I burst into tears.
My nose started running.
I grabbed a paper napkin in front of me and wiped my nose.
"I've been working hard with the student I scouted in a team of two."
"All the kids were good kids. Well, there were also some not so good ones. Hilarious."
"That's hilarious."
"Some of those kids couldn't advance or graduate."
"I currently have zero students! Hilarious."
"My achievements last year and this year? Zero!"
"But of course, any kid responds immediately when scouted. There's only benefits for them."
"But, they always fail at the final screening by upper management. Unfortunately, those kids' abilities don't meet the school's standards. It can't be helped. After all, it's not a charity."
"My judgment has been called into question."
"By whom? My boss!"
"Marry me."
"Support me."
"Let me do Pilates at our happy home."
"Pilates isn't just an old lady's hobby!"
"No good. I suddenly had a bad memory flashback."
"Recently, I was chatting with my junior about how I've been thinking of doing Pilates, and she sneered, 'Pilates? That's what old ladies do.'"
"Damn it. That junior annoys me."
"A woman doesn't get pampered until her 20s!"
"Heh... heh..."
"I'm an elf. I look like I'm in my early 20s, but inside I'm a 30-something old lady."
"At least I look young."
"No, it's not good enough."
"Recently, even speed dating has age limits! What's with '20s only'?"
"I can't go!"

Recently, my crappy boss was in a rush.
Seeing him like that, I secretly snickered.
"Being a manager sucks, huh?"
"Having a position without any responsibility is the best!"
But that was a big mistake.
Recently, the upper management has been talking about recruiting retirees through the scout department.
It seems they're planning to cut the dead weight to reduce labor costs.
It's probably fine for excellent scouts.
But I'm different.
The first ones to be cut will be those who aren't producing results.
"I'm going to be unemployed."
Yes, I'm unemployed. Society is a harsh place.
Many paths are open to talented people.
The opposite is... well, you can probably guess.
I'm also a graduate of Mahoro Academy.
In my hometown, I was the best magician.
But at that academy, I was a poor student.
――――That place was abnormal.
At the beginning of my enrollment, I proudly thought I could become one of the elites.
Being the first Mahoro student from my village, I was greatly supported.
My parents even cried tears of joy for me.
They prepared embarrassing banners and sent me off.
So, I thought I would do my best.
――― But even so, the world is vast.
"I was barely keeping up with my classes."
"Somehow, I managed to graduate."
"I think it was partly due to the professor's kindness."
"I haven't been back to my hometown in over 10 years."
"I can't go back."
"I would definitely disappoint my parents. They believe I am a super-elite."
"I can't go back."
"I really can't."
"I kept lying and eventually lost the courage to cross the threshold of my parents' house."
sigh
"Lately, my only pleasure is drinking."
"I'm able to endure work just to have this one drink after it's finished."
"Alcohol is truly the water of the gods! Viva alcohol!"
"I love it. Because it's a legal medicine that lets you forget the unpleasant things in this world."
"Scouts are assigned quotas every season. Well, it's a funny story that I, who can't even fulfill my quota, am talking about. I'm laughing my head off."
"Marry me."
"Give me money."
"Let me live in a high-rise apartment."
"The job of a scout is to discover talented people."
"There are opportunities for scouts."
"If the talented people they scout succeed later on, the scout can receive many benefits from it."
"For example, it could be a path to becoming a true elite, such as a post at a research institution or as an instructor for a government magic task force."
"My super annoying senior, who was called a once-in-a-century genius among geniuses, scouted the current student council president, and has already been promoted to a high position at Mahoro Academy, working as an adviser for the party led by the student council president."
"Where did the difference lie?"
"Oh, right from the beginning, sorry about that."
"I didn't win a single thing when I was a student at the academy."
"That conniving woman really pisses me off."
sigh "I want to get married. I want to succeed. Help me, please...hiccup."
"I downed my cheap liquor and felt dizzy."
"Um, excuse me, miss?"
"I couldn't focus my gaze."
"Huh? What is it?"
"I was surrounded by some men."
