"My blood," I muttered to myself.
I start looking around for some sharp objects and found Itachi's kunai. I stabbed it in my palm to draw some blood. But shockingly my wounds were healing at an inhuman speed. It healed so fast as if I never stabbed myself. There was no time for the blood to come out of my skin.
"What the actual fuck?"
I keep stabbing myself at different points of my body. But the outcome was no different from before. I look up at Itachi who was still in a critical condition. I lift his head and place it on my lap and brush away the hair strands falling all over his face. His whole body was burning and he was struggling to breathe.
"If this continues he will be gone in no time. Is there's nothing I can do to save him?" I was desperately looking for a way to cure him.
"I guess this should work." I take Itachi in my arms and lean down to his face.
"Alright let's do this." I press my mouth against his, biting my tongue.
"Just as I thought my tongue is healing slowly compared to my other body parts."
The blood slowly went down his throat. Seems like it has a magic effect on his body. His pulse went back to normal.
I sighed in relief and lean back. Itachi gains back his consciousness. As soon as he opens his eyes he finds himself laying on my lap. He immediately gets startled seeing me and tries to get back.
"Thank god you're safe now." I exclaim in joy as i see him in a better state.
But when i try to help him get up he activates his sharingan trying to attack me. His left eye started to bleed.
"Relax Relax"
"Who are you?"
Itachi asked as he tries to grab his kunai.
" I'm Naomi. By the way are you looking for this?" I point at the kunai I was holding.
Just in a flash, Itachi snatches it from me clearly showing signs of why he is known as one of the greatest Uchihas. Despite being in a state like this he still had the chance to turn the tables on me. He placed the sharp kunai a few inches away from my throat.
"Are you a spy?"
His raven black eyes stared deep into mine, Glare fierce as ever.
I stick both of my hands in the air.
"No, I'm not a spy," I whispered.
He tightens his grip and now the kunai is touching my skin. My heart was stuck in my throat. Breath hitched.
"Look in my eyes."
His voice gave me goosebumps.
I could already feel his gaze falling over me. I gradually look up to meet his eyes. As soon as my eyes met his he blurted out something.
"Mangekyou Sharingan."
His pitched black eyes turned crimson red. But before it could show its effect Itachi coughed out blood. The kunai fell from his grip.
"Are you okay?"
I ask in concern as I rubbed his back.
He tries to stand up on his own but he was in no state to do so. I put his arm around my shoulder to support him but he pushed me away.
"Don't be stubborn Itachi. Let me help." I insist.
"I can't accept help from an enemy. I would rather kill myself than let you capture me."
He barely had any energy to speak.
"I'm not an enemy nor a spy." I try to explain.
"Then who are you?" He asks.
"We can talk about these things later. Right now you need a safe shelter. This place isn't safe. Moreover you're in no shape to fight if someone spots us here we'll be gone for good." I said.
"Just trust me this time. I'll tell you everything once we get out of here."
I tried my best to make him trust me. But knowing Itachi's nature i guess it won't be enough for him to trust me.But i've nothing more to offer at this moment. Itachi didn't answer so i took it as a yes and helped him to get up.
"I'll count to three and then try to get up okay?" i said.
"One two three" I try my best to lift him up and hopefully it worked.
His one arm was wrapped around my shoulder. My arm wrapped around his bare waist. Suddenly Itachi looked into my eyes and activated his sharingan.By doing so he showed me the way to the hideout in an instant. I noticed the Akatsuki cloak on the ground and picked it up. I handed it to Itachi and he wore it.
Because of Itachi's injuries we were moving at a slow pace. But we managed to reach at the hideout before sunset. It was a dark cave in the mountains. I made Itachi lay on the floor.
"He's burning. The fever won't go down on its own. I need to cool him down." I thought to myself.
I looked into Itachi's stuff but his water bottle was empty. I searched around for water but there wasn't a single drop of water anywhere.
"I might regret this but i gotta go outside to look for water."
I went out and just by a few distance i found a lake. After getting water i went back inside the cave. But Itachi was nowhere to be found.
