The wind began to rush on her ears, "Why my windows are open?" Shiro asked herself as she is confused about the breeze she suddenly discerned. She sits upright on her bed then a crimson sky dazzles her visions. She immediately stands up and mends her bed and walks towards the window to close it. "What's happening?" She asked again and again. "Hon, Have you seen my polo?" Shiro widened her eyes as she heard a familiar sound when she finally closes the window. It was unclear and inaudible, she wasn't sure what it says.
Without a doubt, she hastily moved her feet to open the door and she is crying quietly as she is going down through the stairs. She heard a step coming behind the sliding door going to their hallways that's why she stop from running while her hands are shivering. "Dad..." she whispered by herself and slowly neared herself on the door but as soon as she opened it, there was a moment of silence along with the heartbeat against her chest.
[GASP] Shiro realized she's in her dreams and hard to open her eyes from the daylight.
"Hmm... why is someone sleeping in the library instead of studying?" Shiro started to realize that she is at school when someone unclearly whispered. She widened her eyes and close them a little again from the sun shining dazzlingly in her eyes. Once she opens it again she suddenly sees someone in front of her who is also laying their head on the library table and they are face to face right now.
"A girl?" she mumbled looking right through the silhouette of a woman that shines in front of her because of its white getup. "A girl huh?" Shiro surprisingly heard him—his deep voice as well and she wiped her sight more even the sun rays going through on his white coat that hurts her eyes and he gently breaks a smile on his pinkish soft lips that make him more pretty especially when he exhibits his lighthearted smile to Shiro.
"Since you called me a girl, I will say something to the librarian!" he said with his manly voice and chuckled like a devil beside her. Shiro instantly sits upright as well as him with his sinister smile.
"Hey, Madam someone is—"
"Hey!" Shiro got alarmed and shut his mouth by covering it with her hands. He chuckled once again and luckily the librarian never heard of him or maybe just ignored him. "Tss..." Shiro let out and push him a little but she realized again that someone in front of him was a stranger and not just a stranger but a newbie for sure. She observed him and Shiro was sure he is a foreigner, along with his white extended coat over his white lambswool sweater and blue jeans with a bluish-white belt. His lengthy black wolf-cut hair makes him beautiful. Shiro is deeply observing him, he has manly facial features but his pretty-looking view wins against his face. You'll just notice he is a man from his broad shoulders and of course when he finally speaks up.
"Are you an idol?" She asked with her arc eyebrows and he began to laugh again.
"No... I'm not! Hahaha!" he delightfully asserted and places his guitar on the table. He looks at her once again and thinned his lips, "Finally, I found someone! I've thought this school has abandoned," he said cutely, and Shiro is approving to herself that he was cute when he drooped his shoulders on the table before leaning his head on it like a kid.
"What do you mean?" she asked coldly.
"I'm lost," he said with a smile on his face,
"But now I'm not!" he continued.
Shiro raised her eyebrows once again, "So you're new..." she said, "Where you came from?" she asked.
"South Korea... I'm an exchange student from the Jefferson University branch in Korea but since my mom is an alumnus here; I chose this school," he made known to her and sit up straight again before leaning his back on the chair.
"My name's Dillan... Dillan Kim, I'm a music major in 2nd year," he said and Shiro got surprised for they have the same year. "Me too... I'm in my second year... I'm Shiro, nice to meet you Dillan." She formally said since she felt that he is already her responsible.
"My friends told me we will go to meet but they are not in here and some other students too... aren't they pranking me?" he innocently asserted to Shiro and she began to chuckle that making him look at her with a question written on his face, "Where's your phone?" she asked him and he instantly gave it without hesitation like they already know each other.
"It's an hour advanced, why you never change it?" She said with a smile on her face before she put his iPhone 13 down on the table.
"OH!" he said after he snaps his palms on his forehead, "I'm such an idiot!" he exclaimed and open his phone going to the settings to change the time. There was a moment of silence that happened to them as he finally set the time correctly; Shiro started to fix her things on the table and Dillan began to near himself to peek at her things, "Hey, is that a poem?" he asked while pointing at her piece of paper that has been torn apart from her notebook. Without a warning, he gets it and reads a few words.
After all these years
I'm still missing you
What should I do?
I can't still control my tears
He read quietly before Shiro snatched it from his hand, "Don't touch my things," she annoyingly said and put the paper on the side of her white jeans. "Sorry," he said and was a little bit worried from what he just read. "Are you an English Major?" he asked politely and Shiro thinned her lips before she verbalized her words, "No, I'm from Office Administration," she shyly said to him or more likely a cold answer for Dillan.
"Shall we go?" Shiro asked him while she's preparing herself to leave while mending her bag on her shoulders. Dillan started to stand up too with his excitement he cannot hide from her that's why Shiro breaks a smile and he noticed it but he ignored it for a while or more likely hiding his upper cheeks that get warming as he is getting his guitar and backpack. "L-let's go!" he happily said and get happier when Shiro is waiting for him while he is picking up his things. They went outside the library and some other students from different colleges are coming but merely a few of them since it's still early. Shiro started to point out important buildings, such as the computer laboratory, comfort room, faculty, and guidance. Shiro is also familiar with some colleges since Professor Younghyun let her handle the records of his classes.
"Let's go to your building," Shiro said to him and Dillan smiles at her, "Okay...I actually know my floor and room number," he made known to her and followed her immediately. They went to Main Zhong Building and they entered the elevator, "11th," he said with a smile on his face and Shiro presses the floor controls.
"Hey, Shiro why are you so early today?" he asked her and Shiro begin to remember that she came alone again at school and the last week when she came home late Austin told her that he got busy with events that his parents let him show up as their representative since it is an important and invitation from luxury brands they connected with.
[TING] Shiro was awakened from her drifting and looked at Dillan, "I-I'm used to going every day this morning especially when the exam is approaching or my professors wanted the records that early," she responded with an awkwardness within her, "Okay," Dillan answered back and they walk together going to the glass door which is the music room.
"Ahh, here it is!" Dillan said while his eyes are sparkling. He pulls out something from his pocket and Shiro had noticed it was a key card for the Music Room.
"I'll let you in too for a moment," he said and wink at her then they continue to amble their feet inside the room after Dillan accessed his card.
"How did you get your card already?" Shiro asked with confusion written all over her face. "Since I passed the entrance exam last 2 months they gave me this from here to Seoul," he happily told her and bring down his guitar. He runs towards the black grand piano near the wide window of the room and he is instantly seated down on the piano bench and unlocks it. Shiro quickly went beside him by hiding her excitement she is also happy inside her.
Dillan started to sway his hands onto midair and instantly places his hands on the piano playing a happy melody on F major scale and started humming while he is closing his eyes. Shiro got stunned and the sunlight starts to dazzle once again like he is glowing that making his music and himself more passionate. Shiro finally smiles at him and he slowly turns his gaze upon her along with his hair since it is lengthy and bouncing so lightly. He smiles back at her, "Did you know mom made this song?" he let out and still playing happily.
"The title of it is Turn Off the Radio," he said while his cheeks are turning red, "It's a love song she made for dad," he said and stops as he is almost on the bridge part.
He stands up and closes it and deep sighs, "My mom is a good composer and dad is also a good lyricist that's why I study music to be like them," he said and nodded before he takes off his coat and places it on his right forearm.
"They keep on saying me and mom are alike but not like her... I struggled to write lyrics and many of the producers I've met rejected my work for they say it's LACKING or TOO MUCH they said..." he confessed to her and look at the ceiling and surveyed at Shiro who is quite looking worried about him, that's why he chuckled, "Am I dramatic now? Haha! Can we go to the cafeteria? Let's have breakfast," he offered to her and Shiro began to widen her eyes but has no choice anyway since Dillan is already her liability.
They go together to the Cafeteria of CYU and they quickly reach the counter and browse the breakfast menu, "Choose what you like, It's my treat since you came with me," he asserted while looking at the menu. Shiro started to touch the back of her neck for her and Lynx didn't like in the cafeteria for their lavish lifestyle and food here. "Maybe a French Toast," she said while pointing at the sweet French toast with ice cream and he quickly glance at her as she is thinning her lips.
"You look like someone who will never eat just sweet food in the morning, just like dad... let's have Norwegian breakfast instead," he offered Shiro with a convincing smile at her, "Oh, okay if you insist," she responded while rapidly moving her eyes. Dillan quickly brings out his black credit card and the employee immediately offers him a seat and said it's fine for them to wait for their order on the table. Shiro started to gulp again, "He's not just a rich kid, but a rich like them," Shiro internally declared as she is also pertaining Austin and his company while they are being accompanied by the staff.
They immediately seated near the glass window since Dillan wanted to see how wide the University is. Shiro looks at her sports watch and it's already 6 in the morning, which is an hour before the first class starts.
"Hey, Shiro are you half Japanese?" he asked at the moment when the waiter places the food on their table. Shiro smiles at him, "No, My name is Shiro Mae Mañalac Fajardo, my mom just love to read books and found a Japanese name on it and she likes it," she confessed and excitedly looking at the food, which has two rye bread, cheese, butter, raspberry jam, and smoked sausage along with steaming black coffee.
As Shiro is looking at her food, he noticed Dillan covering his mouth while chuckling that's why she widens her eyes, "Is he laughing at me because he noticed I'm mediocre?" she overthinks and frowned her brows on him, "Why are you laughing? Are you laughing at me?" she asked intimidatingly and that makes Dillan laugh at her.
"I am laughing because I met someone like mom and I am happy about it... Her name is Megumi but she is not also Japanese like you— but right now I am laughing because your eyes are like how dad gets mad at us when we were teasing him! Hahaha!" he made known to her and Shiro got bewildered and awkward when he is still laughing, "Hey, stop laughing and eat! Tsk... this weird," she commanded before she whispered her last words. Dillan stops laughing and looks at her more and flashes a smile before he dives in on his food.
Thereon, as they are munching their food Dillan makes a sudden gesture like he is surprised or excited while grabbing his phone in his pocket, "Hey, Shiro you have We Chat or Kakaotalk aren't you?" he raised a question as he is opening his phone and went on a certain app. "Yes I have but I am rarely using it since the Messenger is popular in here but I have it for my Mandarin class," she made known to him and sip on her coffee. "I don't have that yet so I'm going to get your number," he seriously said while pouting his lips—Shiro breaks a smile at him and lends her hand towards his phone; he smiles back and delightfully gave his phone after that, Shiro type her contacts and instantly gave it back to him, "In case you are lost you can chat with me," she informed him and this time he beams his wide smile while his cheeks are getting rosy for it is obvious from his fair complexion.
After they have their breakfast, they decided to stroll around the University grounds since the first period is about to start, "I really have a good time," Dillan happily said while stretching his arms, "Hope you have a nice day and wear comfy clothes next time, you forgot that you were not in South Korea anymore," she said and Dillan scratches the back of his head, "You're right I'm getting redder because of my clothes!" he told her but in a delightful tone of voice and they continue to walk.
"Hey, the poem, may I have a chance to see it?" he asked and Shiro started to get awkward while hastily touching the side of her pocket,
"Just forget about it," said she.
"Ahh! There is it!" he exclaimed that's why Shiro got panicked and grabbed the paper in her pocket. "No!" she said while clasping it on her hands. Dillan started to laugh and since the other students are coming they cannot help themselves to stop and stare at him.
"He's so handsome!" someone has said with her mouth is open for she got star struck and even some other girls along her are giggling. "Please, please! I will never judge you!" he said and persistently getting the paper and Shiro walks hastily especially when those people are already gawking at them, "I told you to—Hey!" she almost loudens her voice as they stop in front of the elevator of Zhong Building, "This looks like a song," he told her as he is positioned the paper upwards and Shiro tried so hard to get it because he is tall, approximately 185 in centimeters.
"Hey, you're being unfair do I have to tell—" Shiro got halted once again and slowly gazes at him and her cheeks became warmer when Dillan kissed her forehead without a warning. He flashes a bright smile again, "See you," he asserted while flapping the paper and winking at her as he began to enter the elevator. Shiro was got dumbfounded where she is standing and she touches her forehead with disbelief on her face, "What an odd guy," she whispered to herself and goes in another direction for her first-period class.
"Hey, Shiro!" someone has called her and while he opens around his arms, "Uhm... Ugly Lynx," she responded coldly and Lynx started to smile to tease her as well as shaking her aggressively.
"Are you sad being alone?" he asked her sarcastically, "Seems so hard without Austin ha..." he added which makes Shiro frown on him and hit his tummy with her elbow, "Shut up! I wasn't alone earlier," she made known as they are sitting together in their chair.
"Who's with you then? Asher told me she's going to be late,"
"It's a new student, an exchange student to be exact..." she said while writing something on her paper. "His name is Dillan Kim..." she lastly said when Professor Younghyun suddenly came into the class. "Shiro and Lynx..." he called out their names as they all seated together, "Help me later again for the final records of your midterm," he asserted and he immediately started the class where exactly Asher came and excuse herself.
As their morning classes have done Shiro and Lynx wave goodbye at Asher and they noticed her she is a bit hurry going to the private room. "See you later Shiro and Lynx!" she happily said and kiss her cheeks and run as soon as Shiro and Lynx goes to Professor Younghyun's office. Asher takes a glimpse of her phone, "Ahh where's Dillan? Why he is not calling?!" She angrily mumbled to herself as she is in a hurry running on the hallways with her high heels on. She opens her phone again and tries to reach his contact, "Hey, Hello Dillan where are you?" she asked with her deep hush as she is still hurrying to find him.
"We're here at your back!" he said happily while giggling and Asher was get struck to hear his voice once again. She quickly turned her glance towards him, "DILLAN!" she shouted that making the other students peek at them, "Asher!" he responded, and Asher hugs him tightly.
"Why you never called us again? I've thought you were lost!" she said and Yangyang along with Mark goes towards them and jerk off Dillan's hair. "You look like a celebrity with your hair!" Mark happily said to him as well as Yangyang who is happily smiling beside him, "He looks like he's going to dance anytime," Yangyang asserted and Dillan started to arc his eyebrows towards them.
"Hey! Would you stop making a scene in the hallway! That's too much attention..." Austin suddenly appeared beside them while crossing his arms while Nana is on beside him playing on his phone.
"Nana and Austin!" Dillan delightfully greeted them, "Austin! Why do you still look so stubborn?" he added and Austin just roll his eyes that makes Dillan laugh at him. "Anyway, how come you make it on your own earlier? Asher asked him as they continued to walk going to their room. Dillan flashes a smile on his face and his cheeks became red as he is looking at the ceiling.
"Someone accompanied me today..." he said and starts to giggle as he remembered what just happened earlier, "I was thankful I got my time wrong, I think I've just met a special person," he said and this time Yangyang starts to arc his eyebrows and Mark noticed him and he gulped even though he was not sure what was exactly on his mind.
"Oh really? That's a good person huh?" Asher asserted innocently without noticing something wrong about his statement while she accesses the key card in their room. Dillan snickers once again, brushing up his hair and a dreamy look upon his face makes them intrigued and they stop for a while before he begin again to talk.
"Yep, she is just..." he laughs once again that's why he stops talking and he looks at them, "S-SHE?" Asher asked with her wide eyes open and this time all of them stops walking and deeply stared at him, "Yep, She—she is just a good person," he poured out.
"Shiro is such a great person," Dillan said and Nana suddenly stops playing and they slowly turned their gaze at Austin while Dillan was unaware of what's happening and just entered the room with his delighted mood since morning.
"Shiro?" Austin mumbled as well he is clenching his fist.
