Furōkawa stood in the middle of the training facility, balancing on top of Onamazu and balancing another two spears on his feet, which were spread far apart. Beads of sweat dropped down his face and onto the marble flooring.
"Calm mind. Impervious mentality."
Onamazu's metallic frame began shifting into the battle axe that was stolen from the valkyrie Brynn. Slowly, he started rotating on top of the weapon, not breaking focus.
BEEEP
Furōkawa's eyes shot open as he pushed the spears off his feet into the air and flipped on his feet, catching axe-formed Onamazu. He spun kick both spears into the wall across from him and spun the axe around, striking the air. The sound of the blade slicing through the air was heavy, but moved so seamlessly in the hands of Furō.
"Okay Furō, that's enough!" Emilia said as she clapped her hands.
Furō wiped his face with the back of his right hand and lifted his longsleeve compression turtleneck up halfway over his face. "Where's the water 'Milia?"
She tossed him a bottle and without looking he caught it quite easily.
'His spatial awareness has improved so much since June…' Emilia thought to herself.
"Can you believe it's already been a month since Nanami left?" Emilia asked while leaning against a wall where Furōkawa squatted next to, chugging the water she gave him.
"Has it? It feels like it was just this yesterday in all honesty. I feel like time would move faster
if-"
"If we go after the valkyries, yes I know. I'm glad you're still thinking about them as much as I am."
Furōkawa rolled his eyes and threw on the jujutsu uniform he had modded to his liking over his compression shirt and loose-fitted cargo pants. The new uniform consisted of a sleeveless black robe with a hood and a sliver belt to keep it all together. He slid his boots back on and let Onamazu rest on top his shoulders.
"Well, are you ready for the next valkyrie
"Of course I am, I trained relentlessly for weeks to tear this spirit apart."
They both walked out of the building only to be met by a slight drizzle from above. But all Furōkawa did was throw his hood up and waved Emilia a goodbye and hopped in the backseat of the black car that's always conveniently located in front.
———————————
The light rain soon became a thunderous storm, which was strange since it did not rain often in this area. It was hard to explain, but a feeling was welling up inside of Furōkawa's stomach.
A feeling of overwhelming evil over in Japan.
He looked into the sky for a moment with a small amount of worry and continued on his way to third cathedral. A pulsating energy can be felt within, like a bomb that was close to setting off.
"I should hurry up.."
Furōkawa pushed the door open and looked to the right and left. On the left side, he saw the cellar trap door and jumped through it, breaking the wood and falling through the middle of the spiral steps. At the last possible second, he drove Onamazu into a gap in the rails to abruptly put a stop to his momentum, and dropped down quietly to the prison the valkyrie remained.
The valkyrie of course had its body covered by its large golden wings, but what was interesting was that it was pulsating some sort of light—better said, an energy of some form.
But not cursed energy.
Something much more unnatural.
"Finally got to you, little booger." Furōkawa said as he pulled his hoodie off and walked towards the stasis-locked spirit.
"…"
Some momentary pause happened between the pulsating light, and resumed when Furōkawa stopped talking.
"Do you wish you fight me, Gondul, brave warrior?"
This kinda reminds me of Destiny 2, how funny is that.' Furōkawa quietly cracked a smirk. He then backed away a little bit as the flashing energy began to flow more consistently, but nevertheless, he obliged to the offer.
"Yes."
