In the midst of a chaotic invasion two fellows who had been some distance away from the chaos strolled down a street full of distress.
" Run! it's another dungeon" A man shouted.
Followed by this shout, a large portal with a shade of blue appeared out of nowhere.
From the portal terrifying creatures who were relatively large in size appeared. They had a very grotesque looking face and held clubs or axes in their hands.
"ROOAAARRRR!!". With a mighty roar these monsters wreaked havoc on everything they had in sight. No one was spared. Not fathers, mothers, nor children.
All over the world these portals had started appearing and humanity had referred to them as dungeons. No one knew why, or what brought this monsters to earth.
Some people even began to believe that the universe was punishing humans for their sins, and it was the end of the world.
Because as far humanity was concerned, none of their modern weapons could work against these monsters. All military firearms and artillery were totally useless against them.
---------------------------------------------------
The two fellows who strolled down the street seemed to be a boy and a girl The boy held the girl in his hands, whose face seemed to show signs of despair.
They had put on black cloaks which had already been dirty and torn, probably because they had not been cleaned for a while
From time to time the boy would stagger and almost fall, but sheer willpower was what kept him walking. Their bodies were very frail which anyone could tell was due to malnutrition.
"*cough* Nel you have to let me go. If not were going to both die". The girl visibly weak tried her best to speak.
"No, that's not an option Maria". The boy said. He reached out his hands into his cloak and brought out a bottle of water.
"But that's our last water." Maria said.
"You need it more than I do" Nel replied.
"BOOOM!". They heard another explosion which shook the ground and their feet.
"Maria, drink up fast!", Nel shouted in panic. She took the bottle without question and drank it up.
They continued to walk down the road filled with people screaming and running. Their destination was a army camp, that was said to be guarded by the military
They wanted to take refuge there for the mean time. Nel felt his energy leave his body. If not for Maria he would fainted a long time ago.
The reason he cared for his sister so much was because of a promise he had made to his parents, before they died.
He remembered, how it happened, as that day he and Maria, had gone to school. On returning, they had both been jovial, until what they had seen once they opened the front door.
Blood. It was blood everywhere. It gave him a nauseating feeling as he remembered the occurrence.
It was due to that incident that he and Maria became hemaphobic. Their mother hung on the ceiling, dangling on a rope, and her eyes where white and empty.
Her face still showed signs of unwillingness to die, as blood dripped from her naked body from cuts and bruises on her skin
He looked at the other side of the room, and saw a headless body. The head looked very familiar, and they he recognized it. It was their father. Nel had to close Maria's eyes before she saw her father's headless body.
She was already frozen in fear, and despair, and he couldn't bear to let her see more.
Recollecting these memories Nel cried in anguish. Why had fate done this to him. And after his parents deaths, none of his relatives gave a damn about him or Maria.
Some of them insisting on helping only if they slept with Maria, but he couldn't accept such circumstances. If he did, Maria would hate him forever.
They became poverty stricken children and wandered, on the streets begging. Sometimes they had to steal and it was a miracle that they were still alive till today.
"Big brother, dont cry, you'll make me cry too".Maria said in her soft voice after seeing Nel cry. Tears had already clouded her eyes.
She extended a hand, which was weak and nimble and touched his face. "Its okay were almost there".
Her voice comforted him and he had to man up. He began to see the building of the camp and he sighed with relief.
"Maria, were here we made it". He said.
