Chapter 1 - Drizzling rain and falling blossoms interweave in endless profusion

I am a genuine female ghost, but now I am a demon hunter. The monsters I hunt are not just simple monsters, but rather those with evil intentions and a history of wrongdoing, whether they are monsters, ghosts, humans, or gods. If I encounter them, I will capture them.

Why am I, a female ghost, doing this? It is not because I am a kind-hearted ghost, but because I made a vow with the King of Hell. When I have fulfilled my good deeds, he will send me back to the mortal world, to the place I want to go and to be with the person I love.

Why do I receive such special treatment? It is because I died a tragic and unjust death, and the real fault lies with the King of Hell. To make up for it, he gave me this new identity and mission, and I began my long journey. However, after a hurried century has passed, my good deeds are still incomplete, and the person who was waiting for me has passed away.

I remember that day when I was still wandering as a lonely ghost in the mortal world, waiting for someone who needed my help. The rain was falling softly like the day we parted. As I was reminiscing about the past, the King of Hell summoned me for the first time. Even though I no longer have a body or a heart, I still felt a sense of panic.

In a hurry, I found a new grave outside the city and hurriedly entered it. There was only an old corpse in the grave, and the soul did not remain. It was only after I died that I realized that every grave is connected to the underworld. When I arrived in the underworld, I went straight to the King of Hell's palace. My affair was known to all the ghosts in the underworld, so no one stopped me.

It was still the dark and gloomy hall, and this was my first time here since I made the oath with the King of Hell. Standing in front of the hall was a man who, although already hunched over, stood tall and fearless. Time had changed his appearance; he was no longer the young man in his prime, nor the nervous young man who lifted my red veil. However, I still recognized him at first glance, but I couldn't remember for a moment how many years it had been since I last saw him.

The young and handsome King of Hell sat on the throne, watching the absent-minded woman at the door, feeling guilty in his heart. "The person you've been waiting for has arrived," he said.

The man in front of the hall slowly turned around, his movements slow because he was really old. He tried hard to live, to want to live longer, to remember the person who was no longer there, to let her live in his memory. He was afraid that he would not remember her after he died, but she was so cruel. She refused to come to him in his dreams for seventy-six years.

"Ah... it's been seventy-six years since we last met." At the moment he turned around, I finally remembered how many years it had been since I last saw him. But because the oath had been made, I couldn't go to see him. I worked hard to do good deeds in the mortal world for seventy-six years, and this was the final outcome. I didn't return to his side; he came to my world.

As our eyes met, we smiled and cried, crossing the long passage of time and the barrier of life and death.
