Chapter 110 - Volume 3 Chapter 26: The Origin of Madness

(? ? ? ?)

With the death of the entity known as the "Player," the world declared its end, and the world that are constructed of blocks was "replaced" by other worlds.

As a result, the power that had kept him imprisoned disappeared, and thus, he woke up.

"..." He opened his pale eyes and looked at this burning world with the light reflected in his eyes.

What greeted him was the wailing sound of soul sands who were in agony, the crimson earth that steamed, the sky high blood-colored fortresses... and the glaring molten sea of magma.

How long has it been? Since he last opened his eyes?

He couldn't remember, couldn't understand.

He tried to move his body and felt that it was unusually light. It then occurred to him that he was already dead, and his immortal soul was sealed in this netherworld.

His memories lingered on the figure holding a cross in hand.

Yes, his body... the puppet of the "Player," the puppet that possessed the power of creation.

"Clang!" Just then, a crisp sound echoed, and his footsteps, which were moving forward, were forcibly halted, and he stopped.

Realizing that he was standing on a towering platform constructed of countless purple-black rocks, his limbs were shackled by numerous long iron chains. The iron chain on his left leg was pulled tighter than the others.

"...!!"

...An indescribable sensation of heat surged, was this anger?

"Ah, mm... No--." However, soon, he calmed down.

Since he had already awakened, the "rules" left by that person should also be dwindling. Therefore, he reached out his hand and opened the "Inventory."

After a few seconds, he set down the dark purple hard rock in his hand and ignited the flame in front of the towering stone gate... Purple fluid appeared in the center of the gate, pulsating.

He reached out to touch it... Immediately, a strong pain engulfed his entire body, and the stone gate shattered instantly. He fell to the ground in pain, groaning in anger.

His body, which shouldn't have been injured, actually felt pain.

...He doesn't bleed, but he truly felt pain just now.

Since he is simply a soul, he couldn't reach the complete "Creative Mode"...

"No, what... new rules? Impossible... that 'rule' should no longer exist." He looked silently at the teleportation gate.

On the other side of that stone gate, a peculiar power was rejecting his arrival, refusing him to reclaim his "body." He knew it very well.

...

...

"Are there other 'rules'?" In the end, he came to a conclusion, so he changed his mind.

He turned around and looked at this scorching and dim land, at the pigs walking on the scorched earth like walking dead, at the charred bones swaying on the blood-colored fortress, and the golden floating bodies hovering.

He strolled to the edge of the platform, overlooking the creatures below, looking up to him like an emperor reigning over the world.

"Fight, fight! War is a sieve, climb up! Ascend to become the final king!" His smile was filled with pure desire for destruction, pure and evil.

As a result, chaos engulfed the lower realm.

Blades clanged, marking the first trumpet.

The wither skeleton slashed their blade in unison against whatever they see.

The Ghast wailed, roaring with anger.

The fiery Blazes exploded in fire, the pigman squeals filled the air, and finally, a deathly symphony of blood rivers brought complete silence to this already desolate land.

In the end, when those three charred skeletons climbed up, the area below was already covered in corpses, and those three skeletons were no longer the emaciated ones from the beginning.

Each one was covered in the blood of pigmen, with the bone ashes of other skeletons soaked in blood turning into golden dust, their physique had changed, broad and robust, tempered by endless battles.

One of them stood out even more, growing a pair of giant shiny black horns on its skull, resembling a dragon's skull, with charred long fangs. Its height surpassed four meters, holding a pitch-black, decayed sword in one hand and a rusty golden sword in the other.

These three skeletons surrounded him, who lay prostrate on the ground, looking at each other.

And him? With an excited expression, he watched these three withered skulls that had slaughtered millions of their kind, arriving at the high platform.

"What are you waiting for? Continue!" He could barely contain his excitement.

As soon as the words left his mouth, he felt two gusts of wind, and the sword in the Dragon Skull Warrior's hand lifted slightly, looking at the two twisted skeletons with empty eyes.

"Hehehe... it's you──" He felt very satisfied, dragging the iron chains, he stood up, looking up at the warrior in front of him.

"Die."

The Dragon Skull Warrior felt a whirl of the world and then looked at his hand, the hand that held his own head.

His body, as impregnable as a fortress, broke free from the control of his spine, fell down, and turned into dust.

"Three of you, you're the middle one." Ignoring the Dragon Skull, he walked to the other two scattered bones on the ground. With a wave of his left hand, he released the Dragon Skull, and at the same time, two decapitated skulls flew up, including the Dragon Skull.

"What are you waiting for? Keep going!" He could no longer contain himself.

Three withered skulls...

"And then... a bit of Soul Sand."

He stretched out his hands, long untouched by creation, and used the wailing sand as material. Mixing it with scorching lava, he fashioned a massive skeleton without limbs or a head.

His puppet.

"Go forth, find the seven forces that hinder my descent, destroy them, annihilate them."

He waved his hands, once again conjuring a purplish-black stone gate, igniting fire, and stirring up waves of purple water.

As he assembled the skeleton and the three skulls, placing them into the surface of the purple water, he finally heard a voice emanating from the dragon skull.

"...Who are you?"

"...," he fell silent, contemplating his own name and his birth.

Almost every new "player," during their initial creation of a new world, follows a certain pattern of actions.

Exploration without direction, creation without purpose, destroying everything without reason, and then pressing the delete button on the starting page to begin the world anew, seeking the true gaming experience.

"...Me?. . . . I'm a nobody, however, you may call me as. . . . Herobrine."
